Historia
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

Of course its good
Revisado: 12-21-24
You know, I’m getting real tired of a grown man I’ve never met making me feel all the feels. If you’ve read the other stormlight books, why wouldn’t you read this one? Is it going to emotionally drain you for an entire week after you’ve finished it? Yes. Will it make you angry and happy and sad all at the same time? Obviously. Will you sit in silence staring at a wall for an entire hour afterwards? You betcha. Fantastic storyline, excellent narration as always, emotionally scarring, constant action and turmoil, and of course, an ending that leaves you kind of satisfied, but anxious for his next stormlight book which he says is like 10 years out. Get the book. Its worth the read and the trauma. 10/10

Pretty good
Revisado: 06-27-24
Not a big fan of the time hopping trope, but it was decent. My biggest complaint would be the infuriatingly slow pace of the narrator. Other than that, it’s a Black Company novel. Of course it’s good.

Historia
A man awakens in a clearing in what appears to be medieval England with no memory of who he is, where he came from, or why he is there. Chased by a group from his own time, his sole hope for survival lies in regaining his missing memories, making allies among the locals, and perhaps even trusting in their superstitious boasts. His only help from the “real world” should have been a guidebook entitled The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England, except his copy exploded during transit.

Something different from Brandon Sanderson
Revisado: 05-08-24
Although it’s not your typical Brandon Sanderson Novel, it is undoubtedly a Sanderson Novel. It’s a wonderful, heartwarming story, wrapped in parables of self acceptance, self worth, and finding true family, with plenty of nuances sprinkled in, and in a sci-fi/fantasy setting. Finally, as always, the cherry on top of this fantastic book is the fact that it’s masterfully read by the greats Michael Kramer and Kate Reading, the gold standard of quality narrators.

A shining example of character development
Revisado: 02-05-24
A little slow burning in the beginning, but overall an amazing story of finding oneself, and overcoming who you are as a person, accepting it, and accepting yourself. I always liked Murtagh’s character, and I’m glad he took the time to give this character the development he deserves. Be prepared to feel some real feels. Also can someone check on Christopher Paolini? Maybe give him a hug? There’s some insights in this book you can only learn first hand.

Unreasonably Good
Revisado: 11-16-23
I was hesitant to read this series, as I couldn’t fathom the possibility of it being nearly as good as the first mistborn era. Westerns are supposed to be cheesy are they not? However, Sanderson proves once again that he is the absolute master at storytelling and world building, and this book is the proverbial cherry on top of the absolute masterpiece that is the second mistborn era. Fantastic storyline, with high stakes mystery and plenty of action, but lining all of that is Sanderson’s remarkable ability to tell very human, relatable stories with character arcs that will absolutely punch you right in the gut. Read the book.

Historia
In the world of Warbreaker, each person is born endowed with the power of one Breath―which can be sold and collected by others, then used to Awaken objects and even corpses to do their bidding. A few individuals who die in glory return as gods, with the power of thousands of Breath, but no memory of their mortal lives―and are enthroned in the Court of Gods in Hallandren’s capital. To Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris, the abuse of Breath and the claim of the Returned to be gods are repugnant blasphemy.

Great story
Revisado: 09-16-23
Not my favorite Sanderson book, but well worth the read. In his usual fashion, Sanderson just makes these wonderfully unique, yet tied together cosmere worlds with interesting rules and characters you actually care about. If you’re into the Sanderson Cosmere this is most certainly a must read.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

My first Sanderson Book
Revisado: 05-19-23
I was hesitant to start reading Sanderson books due to the fact that he’s just so prolific. He’s written so much and how could someone who writes that much be any good? Take Steven King for example. Prolific. Not great. Overrated.
Well this book… honestly it was shockingly good. Complex. Deep. Amazing world building, truly interesting and unique magic system, and characters you care about. On top of all of that, despite its length and its complexity, despite it character hopping which I usually hate, Mr Sanderson managed to masterfully weave it all together in a way that was just simply a fantastic experience.
This is high fantasy as it should be. This is my new standard for the genre and I hope that the rest of this series is as well done as this book was. My only “complaint” would be that it does occasionally become very bleak, but I see it as necessary for the story as a whole.

The performance is wonderful, and the story is engaging and fairly fast paced, if not laced with more than a few cliches and well used tropes. Even still, they’re used very well, and I challenge anyone not to enjoy the journey

A wonderful wrap up of the series
Revisado: 04-26-23
I enjoyed the story. Well written and well thought out, and possibly my favorite of the series. My only complaint would be the grating way the narrator decided dragons sound like. If you can grit your teeth past that, its a very good book
