Not his best and I buy 200 audio books a year!
Revisado: 11-16-19
A great book is hard to stop listening to. This book is 5 on a 10 scale. the plot is nothing new and I expect more from Grisham. no real plot twists and turns. I fell asleep on the toilet listening to hit. maybe I should have just flushed it. I have not seen or listened to any great books in months. I see this book as fulfilling a contract for "X" amounts of books per his contract.

Historia
The cruel and bizarre slaying of a beautiful teen leads Detective Decker into the dark heart of an exotic subculture: the seamy, sometimes violent world of Southern California's rootless, affluent youth. But even the confession of a disturbed kid with cold "killer eyes" cannot soothe Decker's inner torment. For he knows in his gut this crime goes much deeper and higher than anyone expects - and that true justice, brutal and complete, has yet to be done.

GREAT-YOU MUST READ PART 2 "THE TEHRAN INITIATIVE!
Revisado: 08-14-12
This is a great book. HOWEVER, AND THIS IS VITAL TO GETTING FULL SATISFACTION!
When this book ended, I thought the narrator was retarded because the ending simply wasn't there. I was extremely discouraged. THAT WAS UNTIL I REALIZED THE ENDING IS IN THE NEXT BOOK BY THE AUTHOR CALLED "THE TEHRAN INITIATIVE.
You must buy both books or none. They go together. This is a point that Audible needs to make clearer to prospective readers because I only bought the "Tehran Initiative" because it was on sale or I've read everything else. It was by luck at best that I stumbled into it. It would be very dissapointing to any reader to simply buy the first book and not the second. In my opinion, the two books should have been made into one book. Perhaps the author could not meet the publisher's deadline and that's why the reader is left hanging after book one- "THE TWELFTH IMAM. Once you get into "THE TEHRAN INITIATIVE" the author picks up right where he left off. The narrator also did a great job. The accent is more Indian than Persian, but most readers do not know the difference anyway.

Great Book-My first by this author!
Revisado: 08-11-12
Great book. Good plot, funny dialogue, mystery, decent amount of violence, however not messy. This is my first time reading this author. I think he has a very unique sense of humor, especially how he wraps it around the minor violence areas in the plot. After 92 books this year, I would definetly buy this one again. Also, I'm not on Audible's or the Publisher's payroll like that chick with the damn cat!

Historia
Marked by tragedy, traumatized at the age of eight, Michael, now 18, is no ordinary young man. Besides not uttering a single word in 10 years, he discovers the one thing he can somehow do better than anyone else. Whether it's a locked door without a key, a padlock with no combination, or even an eight hundred-pound safe...he can open them all. It's an unforgivable talent. A talent that will make young Michael a hot commodity with the wrong people.

Once presided over by a flamboyant Hollywood mogul during the Roaring ’20s, the magnificent West Coast property known as Roseland is now home to a reclusive billionaire financier and his faithful servants. And, for the moment, it’s also a port in the storm for Odd Thomas and his traveling companion, the inscrutably charming Annamaria. In the wake of Odd’s most recent clash with lethal adversaries, the opulent manor’s comforts should be welcome. But there’s far more to Roseland than meets even the extraordinary eye of Odd, who soon suspects it may be more hell than haven.

AUDIBLE CENSURED MY FIRST REVIEW-THIS IS MY 2ND
Revisado: 08-07-12
Most successful authors are contracted to mass produce a book a year. I guess they are human and only have so much imagination in their tank. The ODD THOMAS series is a great series until this one which was an unequivacal disaster!!!! Whatever Koontz was thinking of when he wrote this, I suspect the plot came up in his mind while he was riding the porcelain pony, reading the funny pages, because this book is a joke and an embarrassment to Koontz. Koontz is undoubtedtly one of the best writers of this genre. MY ADVICE-SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE. I MEAN NO DISRESPECT TO KOONTZ BUT HE KNOWS THIS BOOK IS CRAP ALREADY AND PROBABLY DIDN'T WANT IT TO GO TO PRINT, BUT DEADLINES ARE DEADLINES. Maybe the next Odd Thomas book will be better, it can't be worse. I will buy any new book from him as I've read every other book he has written. SIDE NOTE: Readers like me want to see and read true reviews from other readers, not fabricated reviews from the publisher or an author's friend. So AUDIBLE: STOP CENSURING READERS REVIEWS. If you wrote a review praising this book then you are a moron or a liar! Anyone who has read the book can comment on whether my review was truthful or not. That is if AUDIBLE.COM has the cahonies to let my review stand AS IS????j

This is my 2ND review-First one was censured.
Revisado: 08-07-12
This story has been done several times over. The "OMEGA MAN", starring Charlten Heston was the first in my lifetime, then Will Smith starred in the next "virus gets out" type story; I forget that titles name.
Anyhow, my problem is I've listened to so many books, I need to find new authors. This book is a simple, redundant, same old virus wipes out everyone, but like usual, one guy is immune. Big surprise there.
In conclusion, the book wasn't terrible. If you have not read "OMEGA MAN" or have seen the latest Will Smith movie, then this book is a 5 on a scale of 10. I have also found a "SERIOUS" drought in truly captivating plot lines or story lines in the last six months. Selfishly, I hope some new books come out which the reader can not stop listening to it.
NOTE:***** I am finding this in "The Twelfth Imam", followed by "The Tehran Inituative!" Go buy them. They are my first two books by this author. I am impressed which is not an easy thing for an author to get from me.

Historia
Somewhere, deep inside the United States government, is a deadly list. Members of Congress never get to see it and only the president has the final say over it. Once your name is on the list, it doesn't come off - until you're dead. Someone has just added counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath's name to the list. Somehow, Harvath must evade the teams dispatched to kill him long enough to untangle who has framed him and why they want him out of the way.

Scott Harvath shoots, kills, shoots kills
Revisado: 08-07-12
What did you like best about Black List? What did you like least?
What I liked best=I liked when it ended. What I liked least=When I bought a new book. It's time to have Harvath whacked and get a new superhero for this author. Being prior SOG, nobody goes into harms way time and time again and comes out unscathed. My suggestion is Scott Harvath's time in this author's plot setting is over. Time to "whack him" and start a new series. It's become simply more and more of the same. Harvath gets screwed, kills everyone, Nicolas' dogs eat a couple of people and uses his creative intelligence in cyberworld. Last, one SOG Operator dies-THE END.
What was most disappointing about Brad Thor’s story?
Same old stuff
Which scene was your favorite?
None
Did Black List inspire you to do anything?
Buy a new book
Any additional comments?
Buy a different book. The author has enough money.

Difficullt to go back and forth over time in plot
Revisado: 08-07-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
No, I see what the author was trying to do. It just took forever to get there. The book was ok. I would try the author again, but would not buy this one again, if given the chance to turn back the clock. Sorry, Ms. Slaughter.
Would you ever listen to anything by Karin Slaughter again?
Yes.
What three words best describe Kathleen Early’s voice?
OK.OK.Ok.
Did Criminal inspire you to do anything?
Go buy a new book to listen to.
Any additional comments?
Relatively boring. Kind of a chick book for chicks who like criminal dramas. Also, multiple plots but definetly not a page turner.
