Historia
In her mid-30s and newly free from a terrible relationship, Tabitha Lasley quit her job at a London magazine, packed her bags, and poured her savings into a six-month lease on an apartment in Aberdeen, Scotland. She decided to make good on a long-deferred idea for a book about oil rigs and the men who work on them. Why oil rigs? She wanted to see what men were like with no women around.

Beautifully Gritty and Poignant
Revisado: 01-30-23
A story of intersecting worlds and a game of mistrust and yearning in the face of straining industry.

Historia
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Like meeting an old friend for the first time
Revisado: 01-14-17
I'll admit that I wasn't a huge Springsteen fan before-- just didn't know his music well - but I was mesmerized by his story as well as his voice-- actual and figurative. The writing is quite beautiful-- if occasionally a bit overwrought. Such a treat to have his commanding rasp with me for all those hours as he told a convincing and humble (even when describing his ego) story of how a Jersey kid becomes a rock icon. I was sorry when it ended.
