Historia
"Martha Gellhorn was so fearless in a male way, and yet utterly capable of making men melt," writes New Yorker literary editor Bill Buford. As a journalist, Gellhorn covered every military conflict from the Spanish Civil War to Vietnam and Nicaragua. She also bewitched Eleanor Roosevelt's secret love and enraptured Ernest Hemingway with her courage as they dodged shell fire together.

Thrilling Travel Stories
Revisado: 06-13-24
It was a difficult book to get into because it was written in a different time, and her language and tone seemed condescending and shrill. I had to read a bit more on Martha to give it another try. This gave me perspective on the importance of her traveling in times of war to remote “forbidden” places. The stories are fun and relatable for those of us that love to travel. The author herself struggled balancing her love for travel and seeking adventure with her hate for the uncomfortable and dangerous moments that lead to the best travel stories.
