Historia
In this incendiary new work, the controversial author and speaker Peter Rollins proclaims that the Christian faith is not primarily concerned with questions regarding life after death but with the possibility of life before death. In order to unearth this truth, Rollins prescribes a radical and wholesale critique of contemporary Christianity that he calls pyro-theology.

Unfortunately I see ego
Revisado: 07-24-22
My Christian faith is deconstructed. While I would have enjoyed this book pre-deconstruction, I see a lot of ego in the story telling now. We only hear about Peter’s personal “dark night of the soul” in high school. It hits this reader, as if he is asserting he’s made this spiritual passage many years ago, and the rest of Christianity is so far behind him. He has no current tales of recent continual personal transformation. His anecdotes are of other people’s failings and ridiculous behavior. I’m in 12 step recovery for codependency. Here we learn to “change the things we can” which is only ever ourselves. This book was not a book about personal transformation, but a book of stones cast at others in church. We can’t change things by throwing stones.
