Dating should be fun
Revisado: 07-27-11
I loved this story. You have the bad boy Alex who belongs to a gang and the beautiful stressed-out blond Brittany, both trying to fight their growing feelings for each other, and not having much luck. There were some real sweet and touching scenes, but not too corny. I thought the narrators did a wonderful job, and Blas Kisic had a very sexy accent, but I did find that he sounded older than 18, well at least that way I didn???t feel like I was robbing the cradle.

The prettiest road I???d ever seen
Revisado: 06-13-11
I will admit that the first hour or so, I was completely confused. There are flashbacks, and dreams, and dreams within flashbacks, ok, maybe not that confusing. But once the pieces fall together, it just become such an emotional rollercoaster, that you can???t put it down. They become like your brother or sister, you fall in love with them, and you want to take their hand, and make it all better! And Rebecca Macauley; she really got the feel of the characters.

A cat named Grimalkin
Revisado: 05-17-11
I liked the book, and the narrator did a nice job. I especially liked Simon???s voice, with the cute English accent. But the subject matter of the mom dying of cancer wasn???t what I was looking for. I don???t mind a bleak, dark, brooding vampire novel, especially with all the light fluffy ones out there. But this was a little too melodramatic for me. It was just to close to home, but I should have known better. If only there was a little more romance and a little less time at the hospital, or Zoe waiting for the ???call???! The romance was sweet, and the writing style is beautifully done almost gothic at times. The two short stories included; The summer of love, and The Christmas cat helped in bring more insight into Simon and Zoe??? and I loved the cat???s name Grimalkin.
I am surprised that The Silver Kiss is not as popular as a lot of YA books out there. It should be.

Historia
The famous Middle English poem by an anonymous Northern England poet is beautifully translated by fellow poet Simon Armitage in this edition. "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" narrates in crystalline verse the strange tale of a green knight who rudely interrupts the Round Table festivities one Yuletide, casting a pall of unease over the company and challenging one of their number to a wager.

Arthurian Romance
Revisado: 04-02-11
The poem was easy to understand, much like The Lady of Shalott, or The Highwayman. And any one that loves a good Arthurian tale will surely love this. Another added bonus was the translator Simon Armitage's introduction. And at the end of the story Bill Wallis, who by the way does a fantastic job, re-reads the poem but this time in Middle English, wow it was a real treat to hear it the way it sounded 600 years ago.

This pretty much had every thing except romance, oh and sex. But still great fun. And the best part was the serial killer/beast on the loose.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Allan Corduner
Revisado: 06-07-10
I am not reviewing the book. If you want to know about that, read the reviews on Amazon, or Goodreads. I am writing about Allan Corduner. This was like listening to a Broadway play; amazing. Allan Corduner brought to life this poignant story. I could never have felt such joy and pain having read this myself. Oh, my heart still breaks when Liesel says "Papa!"
