phenomenal
Revisado: 08-31-24
Couldn't stop listening. Funny, dark, heart wrenching, hopeful, and just very real. The characters were so well fleshed out and ooze every flavor of humanity in all its best and worst aspects. You'll be hooked (relevant fish pun intended) from start to finish.

I tried so hard
Revisado: 01-20-24
I really tried to finish this, tried to stay engaged, tried to pay attention, tried to care, but I failed on all fronts. It's not normally such a struggle to stay interested in a story, and the setting and premise seemed perfect, but I just couldn't force myself to care about this one.

Historia
Kell is one of the last Travelers - magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes. As such, he can choose where he lands. There's Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, ruled by a mad King George. Then there's Red London, where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. There's White London, ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne. And once upon a time, there was Black London...but no one speaks of that now.

The story seems to have a lot of potential, but the way the narrator portrayed the characters made me hate them so much I couldn't finish the book
