Historia
What humankind feared the most has come to pass: the Awakening of the Aesir, an ancient race who rose with an implacable vengeance to wage war on mortals through bombardments and plague. Two people gifted with magic and ingenuity strive to stop them. Professor Robinson Hawksley, an elocutionist in the Invisible College, prepares to exhibit his invention to the world. Using sound to defeat the enemy could change the course of the war. It’s invaluable to the military. Even more so to a conniving rival who’ll do anything to prove its patent as her own.

Historia
After more than a decade, when sisters Nikki, Sami, and Tori Knotek hear the word mom, it claws like an eagle’s talons, triggering memories that have been their secret since childhood. Until now. For years, behind the closed doors of their farmhouse in Raymond, Washington, their sadistic mother, Shelly, subjected her girls to unimaginable abuse, degradation, torture, and psychic terrors. Through it all, Nikki, Sami, and Tori developed a defiant bond that made them far less vulnerable than Shelly imagined.

Rough Ride
Revisado: 02-27-25
The narration and voice changes were amazing. She definitely captured each person’s emotions. But this reminded so much of “A Child Called It”. So I definitely don’t recommend if you’re sensitive to those triggers. The audio was so engaging and easy to follow. I like how the background for each person’s was included and even the interviews from the family come up in certain parts of the story to get their input.

Two civilizations with opposing magic, poised to clash over and over. Now, the Aesir are awakening to wage a new war—this time to exterminate their enemy once and for all.

Harry Potter meets Bridgerton
Revisado: 02-25-25
I love the magic aspect in this time period. It don’t feel overly romantic and it still had good storyline and plot intertwined. It had me captivated and guessing. The world building was also done so well I could imagine it all. I feel that this would be a great movie to watch.

Historia
Here are the thrills, grandeur, and unabashed fun of the Greek myths, stylishly retold by Stephen Fry. The legendary writer, actor, and comedian breathes life into ancient tales, from Pandora's box to Prometheus's fire, and transforms the adventures of Zeus and the Olympians into emotionally resonant and deeply funny stories, without losing any of their original wonder. Learned notes from the author offer rich cultural context. This volume is a doorway into a captivating world.

Best version of the Greek Gods
Revisado: 01-17-25
I love the humor and the voice acting. It kept me entertained and focused. Stephen Fry adds personal touches to his story telling which helps to break the away from the period language that he uses. It also puts into perspective how many gods and stories there are.
