Seriously …. ?
Revisado: 05-03-23
I’ve read/listened to every single Anita Blake since the beginning. I’ve been here for all the ups and downs, but this ??
*** Spoiler Alert ***
There is a big bad attacking Jean-Claude. Impending doom and he might die. All Anita has to do is flip on the Ardeur. Simple. Right? She knows that’s all she needs to do.
Sooooo she chats with Nathaniel and Richard about all this past shenanigans.
JC is dying. Hundreds of humans are in peril. He begs for help.
What does she do? They chat some more. So long Richard has *cough* lost his oomph.
JC begs her to hurry up! Things are getting desperate out there.
So they decide to have a chat about safe words and therapy. Yes, but things are good, but FFS read the room. JC and hundreds are in dire need of help. Now is not the time.
JC once again screams for help. It’s not working. He comes to them. Collapses in their arms.
They still talk. And talk. Then tease the big bad. Talk about college biology class while JC is LITERALLY DYING IN RICHARD’S ARMS!!!
So.. no. They still don’t help. They talk more.
Finally, after an hour and a half of chatting JC begging 5 times. She flicks on the damn ardeur.
I am sorry, but if The love of my life was about to get crushed into oblivion and I could save them with a simple thought. I would drop everything I am doing and save them.
Come on… this made the rest of the book entirely unbelievable. The magic is gone.
The whole story is recapping and rehashing everything your loyal readers already know.
It’s allllllllll fluff. Give us something new and fresh. Go back to focusing on the cases instead of the info we already know.
Ms. Hamilton, for the love of god. Write for your readers. Write like we have been with you for 29 books. Write like we are intelligent enough to know all this stuff. We don’t need a recap on every lover every time. We know! Treat us like we are intelligent enough to know this stuff, and not like this is the first AB we’ve picked up. Give us more detective work, crime scenes, go back to stuff like Bloody Bones and the Harlequin.

Historia
Freeman is a genius with an uncommon mixture of memory, intelligence and creativity. He lives in a worldwide utopia, but it was not always so. There was a time known as the Grind—when Freeman’s people lived as slaves to another race referred to simply as “Master.” They were property. But a civil rights movement emerged. Change seemed near, but the Masters refused to bend. Instead, they declared war. And lost. Now, the freed world is threatened by a virus, spread through bites, sweeping through the population.

Wonderful as always

RC Bray brings to life ^_~ these amazing characters. It was an action packed thrill ride. While much of it was predictable, it was still loads of fun. I have no regrets.

As Always JR rocks it again
Revisado: 03-19-23
These stories are incredible. Every single one of them has been a non stop thrill ride. I highly recommend reading them all before you get to this one just to maximize the connections to the other books. The little allusions won’t mean as much if you haven’t picked up the others.
So go do that… go do that now <3

Historia
It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Fantastic
Revisado: 01-28-23
I have completed all 50+ hours of this series and I loved every second of it. I laughed, I cried, I raged and my heart broke then swelled with joy right along with Zed and Murphy.
I needed it to end just the way it did and it was perfect!
Zed and Murphy are great together. Zed is definitely a D*** sometimes and Murphy is our comic relief. His smile is the sunshine in the Darkness.
Absolutely read this S*** <3
Phil Thron was incredible. I have my bar set darn high comparing to RCBray and this guy held his own. I loved his voice and the way he narrated. When you know who’s talking without it telling you which character is superb.
Thanks Bobby and Phil for making my commute to work a great one ^_^

Historia
Lost in time, the town of Black Creek, Kentucky becomes home to temporal layers of people, creatures, and monsters from disparate eras. Journey beyond the time of humanity and witness the rewriting of mankind’s genesis. For Owen McCoy, a typical day on the job as head of security for Synergy, a research company conducting mysterious experiments, is boring at best. And that’s the way he likes it. Patrolling the Appalachian mountainside, where his now deceased father taught him how to hunt, is relaxing and connects him to the past.

Freaking loved it
Revisado: 01-28-23
I felt like I was flying through the story right along with the characters. Each jump was jarring and thrilling and made you want to know more.
I really love how it connected to The Others story and I am glad I read that one first. This whole Journey started with a random Google search of “good horror books” and the Dark jumped out and now I am down the rabbit hole of this twisting and winding series, loving every second of it.
I am so glad this narrator is extremely skilled, this guy is growing on me. I do like the way he performs the story for us.

Dorian awakens and discovers the world turned a little bit more...uncivilized. For a vampire, the old way of things were just that–the old way. And they worked. Hunting for sustenance wasn’t so literal of a term until now.

It was alright
Revisado: 01-28-23
I finished it, so I didn’t think it was Horrible, but I think that some of the things the character did were confusing conceptually.
Some of the things he did were great and totally made sense, but sometimes he was awkward AF. I loved his little quirk about needing to be clean.
It’s a quick ok read and the narrator’s voice was appealing.
