You will not regret reading this book!
Revisado: 12-23-19
Wow. I am a Colleen Hoover fan. Some of her books are my all time favorites and some aren't. It doesn't matter what she writes, I will buy it. But Regretting You reminded me of why I fell in love with her writing in the first place. I think this would be classified as a YA, but I am in my mid 30's going to buy this for my mother, who is in her 60's to read. It transcends demographics. I don't even know if that makes sense, but that is the only way I can think to explain it. Of all the relationships in this book, the one that impacted me the most was the mother and daughter one between Morgan and Clara. Even though my own life story is not an exact replica of this book, I saw so much of it in the characters, their relationships, and their struggles. I think so many other people will too. Read this book. You will be better for it.

I have two rules in life: first, no relationships, falling in love, or attachments; and second, no sleeping with clients of my interior design firm. Since the last guy turned out to be married, they’ve been easy to follow, until Callum Huxley, a ridiculously sexy Brit. The connection we have the moment our eyes lock scares the ever-loving hell out of me. Thank God, I came to my senses before going back to his hotel where I would’ve ended up naked, panting, and unable to forget him.

Good Story, but didn't love Nicole
Revisado: 06-05-19
3.5 Stars! I love me some Corinne Michaels and I have enjoyed this series, and prior to this book, Nicole was my favorite in this group of gal pals. She was outspoken, funny, honest, feisty and just the right amount of inappropriate. But most importantly, she was the kind of friend that everyone needs in their life. Because of this, my expectations were set pretty high for her. This is probably an unpopular opinion and my own personal opinion, but after finishing this book, it changed how I viewed Nicole. She came across as needy, whiney, selfish, insecure, immature and naive. It had nothing to do with the story, which was okay or the writing, which was of course great. There were glimmers of the Nicole I remembered, but they were too far and few between. However, I did love her and Callum together. Both are successful, career driven people who have been burned in the past making them hesitant to find love again. Corinne set Dani’s story up perfectly and I am so looking forward to the next installment.

Historia
Hen and her husband, Lloyd, have settled into a quiet life in a new house outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Hen (short for Henrietta) is an illustrator and works out of a studio nearby and has found the right meds to control her bipolar disorder. Finally, she’s found some stability and peace. But when they meet the neighbors next door, that calm begins to erode as she spots a familiar object displayed on the husband’s office shelf. The sports trophy looks exactly like one that went missing from the home of a young man who was killed two years ago.

Somewhat Interesting, Somewhat Underwhelming
Revisado: 05-29-19
I have mixed feelings about this book. There were lots of aspects I really loved about this book, like the concept. I am used to the “whodunit” type of books, but this was different and intriguing. We knew whodunit, we just didn’t have all the facts and there were so many layers to the story that needed to be peeled back. I loved that the story was told from different perspectives. I even loved the dynamics between Hen and Matthew. However, I’m not sure if I have read too many mystery/thrillers or if it was that obvious, but I did predict one of the big twists early on and that left me feeling underwhelmed in the end. Knowing the twist also changed my reading experience because I viewed everything differently than how it was probably meant to taken. This was the first book I have read by this author and it peaked my curiosity enough to check out some of his other books.

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She's charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (ok, 50 or 60) hours a week, they've become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship.

A great Summer read/listen!
Revisado: 05-14-19
If I had to sum up this book into one word, it would be cute. Lucy and Josh work side by side in a publishing house and are competing for the same promotion. They couldn't be more opposite, but the one thing they have in common is that they drive each other crazy. Individually, they are likable characters, but together, they are lovable. I loved their banter and chemistry. Although, I did find Lucy a little too naive at times and often wished I could hear from Josh's POV instead of just Lucy's. But, that is just a personal preference. It's like a Chick Flick in the form of a book, and I would definitely place it in the Chick Lit genre. This would make a great summer read/listen!

Historia
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

Best Audible Book in the History of Audibles
Revisado: 05-14-19
Hands down, Daisy Jones & The Six easily makes my top 5 of my all-time favorites. I am blown away by Taylor Jenkins Reid's talent. Like my mind is BLOWN. Upon completion of this book, I immediately searched out her other books and cannot wait to dive in. The story, the characters, the band, the era, everything was so real. I found myself googling "Daisy Jones" and "The Six" because I was convinced they were real people in a real band. I can't imagine that I am alone in doing that either. The story is told in an interview style (even though we don’t hear the questions), almost like documentary. In the beginning, I wasn’t sold on the style and was worried I would be bored since I was listening to the audible version, but I was so wrong. Fun fact, I wasn’t even a big Fleetwood Mac fan before this book, but have found myself playing their music on repeat since. If you are going to listen to only one book this year, let it be this one. I am sure the print version translates well, but the audio cast really breathes life into the characters and the story.

Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases - a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with as well as way less experience in the dating department than the average 30-year-old. It doesn't help that she has Asperger's and that French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. She decides that she needs lots of practice - with a professional - which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.

Eleanor Oliphant meets Crazy Rich Asians
Revisado: 02-06-19
This may be my crazy imagination, but I feel like this book is the perfect marriage between Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (one of my all time favorite books) and Crazy Rich Asians (one of my favorite movies from last year-I have yet to read the books). Stella lives with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, more specifically, Asperger's Syndrome. Social interactions, relationships, eye contact and discerning feelings and emotions are difficult for her. She likes to stick to a strict routine, is easily overstimulated by noise and hates germs. All of these things make her unique, quirky, honest and endearing. This is the first book I have ever read that the heroine has autism and I cannot express how much I love that. It's refreshing. I even gained a new found respect and a better understanding at how hard people with autism have to work at just trying to fit in and constantly trying to do the right thing or respond appropriately. Stella feels that Michael, an escort, is the answer to teach her all of the things she needs to know in order to secure a boyfriend. Michael is charming, patient and just an all around decent human. He is the perfect example of what a man, son, brother and boyfriend should be. I found him so charming and swoon-worthy and apparently Stella did too. They are each other's perfect complement. I don't always love stories that contain a bunch of NSFW parts, and there were several in this book, but I felt like those moments were so important for their personal growth and as a couple. Obviously, I can go on and on about how much I love these characters and their story, but I can't finish without mentioning one of my favorite parts. How great is it that there is a story with a strong female lead that didn't have to give up her career and sacrifice her passion just to keep the man that she loves? WAY TO GO STELLA! I think it is equally as fabulous that Michael never asked her to, and they encouraged and supported each other. I am so looking forward to more books from this author!!!!

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Intriguing! Picks up after Part 1!
Revisado: 02-06-19
Personally, I feel that a good psychological thriller contains suspense, some creepiness, mystery, twists and turns and keeps me guessing until the end. This story contained all of those things, so it did not disappoint. I was invested from start to finish. If I am being honest, I was a little concerned after a major twist was revealed at the end of Part 1. Not that I didn't see it coming, but I couldn't figure out why you would drop the ball in the middle of the story. Little did I know that is when the story really picked up and became even more engaging and exciting. There are a few avenues I would liked to have explored further, like Duke and Maureen. I am looking forward to reading more from these authors!

Historia
Laurie is sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away. Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend, Sarah, giddily introduces her new boyfriend: the man from the bus.

Meeting the right person at the wrong time!
Revisado: 01-23-19
This story is the perfect example of meeting the right person at the wrong time. Typically, I am not a fan of “love at first sight” kind of books, but this one possessed a certain charm and I couldn’t put it down (well more like I couldn’t stop listening since I had it on Audible). I loved getting lost into the worlds of Jack and Laurie and felt so invested in their happiness, even if they were frustrating at times (but who isn’t?). Beyond the romance aspect, I enjoyed seeing Laurie go through her own journey of self-discovery and really flourish. Looking forward to reading more from Josie Silver!

Anticlimactic
Revisado: 01-11-19
I think there will be some people that will really love this book, in fact I know of some. But, it wasn't for me. Liane is a great writer and has a talent for creating such intriguing and complex characters. It was almost as if there were too many and that is why the build up seemed like it was really leading to some super crazy twists and turns. Instead, the story fell flat and plateaued which left me feeling underwhelmed considering the length of time it took to get there. While this wasn't my first time reading a Liane novel, it was my first time listening to it on Audible. The narrator had a difficult task of voicing so many different characters, but the way she did a few of their voices were a little unpleasant to my ears. However, I chalk that up to the character being annoying and not her, for example she would often speak as if each sentence or phrase was a question when it wasn't. While this book wasn't my favorite, I look forward to reading more from this author!

“Since when are you into guys in ties? You only like guys who look like they rob guys in ties. At gunpoint.” It was true. By 2003, my type had been well established. There might as well have been a giant sign on my heart that said, “Good guys need not apply”. Which is exactly why I had to friend-zone Ken Easton. The man was a former football star, smelled like fresh laundry instead of stale cigarettes, and had more ties in his closet than tattoos on his knuckles. Pssh. Boring.

Suit Up! #TeamEaston
Revisado: 12-18-18
I actually read 44 Chapters, but listening to Suit really enhanced the whole BB Easton Experience. BB writes with unparalleled humor and candor, especially since she is the main character and the story is told from her perspective. So I wasn't sure that I was going to like listening to someone else narrate her story. But, Ramona Master completely slayed this performance. In fact, she was so convincing as BB, that as I was listening I truly felt like I was hanging out with my best friend BB and she was telling me this epic story. I didn't want it to end. One of my favorite things about this book that it isn't the kind of love story where Ken the alpha male billionaire and BB the damsel in distress found love at first sight. This is the story of Ken the introverted, frugal manager of a movie theater and BB the extroverted, punk rock college student, who have a lot of love for each other even when things aren't all sunshine and roses. IT'S REAL LIFE. It's proof that opposites do attract and actions do speak louder than words. It was truly beautiful to see them both grow as individuals and as a couple. On a side note, I just want to be best friends with the Easton's, have drinks with BB and clip coupons with Ken.
