Historia
When the young girl washed up on their shore, no one knew she had been a Vessel. That she had carried a Product. That it had been carved from her belly. Stolen. Claire had had a son. She was supposed to forget him, but that was impossible. When he was taken from their community, she knew she had to follow. And so her journey began. But here in this wind-battered village Claire is welcomed as one of their own. In the security of her new home, she is free and loved. She grows stronger.

Great end to a great series
Revisado: 04-29-17
This book is a lovely end to a great series. it's definitely worth the time. Sections 1 and 2 are excellent. The third section was less interesting regarding Claire but it's great to know what happens to Gabe and Jonas.

Classic book, well read
Revisado: 04-02-17
This book is a classic. It is truly a treat, worthwhile for young and old alike. Jonas is endearing, the Giver is such a lovely character, and the story itself is intriguing and stimulating. Definitely worth a revisit for anyone who read it in school. The narrator really brings it to life. Would recommend.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Historia
Striking out into the wasteland with nothing but her baby sister, a handful of supplies, and a rumor to guide her, sixteen-year-old midwife Gaia Stone survives only to be captured by the people of Sylum, a dystopian society where women rule the men who drastically outnumber them, and a kiss is a crime. A necessary step but somewhat weak
Revisado: 02-15-17
Aside from the narrator's propensity for mispronunciation, this is a worthwhile listen. It's a bit of a deviation from the first book of the series, which I think is a significantly stronger offering from O'Brien. The story gets mired in some useless romantic turmoil, but some of it does serve to advance the plot so don't rule it out too quickly. Overall, a necessary step towards the conclusion of the series, but not the strongest plotwise.

Historia
In the future, in a world baked dry by the harsh sun, there are those who live inside the wall and those, like 16-year-old midwife, Gaia Stone, who live outside. Gaia has always believed it is her duty, with her mother, to hand over a small quota of babies to the Enclave. But when Gaia's mother and father are arrested by the very people they so dutifully serve, Gaia is forced to question everything she has been taught to believe. Gaia's choice is now simple: Enter the world of the Enclave to rescue her parents, or die trying.

Aside from mispronunciations, worthwhile.

The book is great. i rrad it many years ago and enjoyed thr audiobook. Love to see reproductive rights being discussed. The narrator mispronounces many words, which is a bit grating. otherwise a worthwhile listen
