Historia
Billy Todd has always been different. Most people called him odd, and those were the nice people. Though he was born with a learning disability, Billy's parents never allowed him to consider himself disabled. Raised to be self-sufficient, Billy might not be as smart as some, but he was a lot smarter than people realized.

Nearly everyone dies and then...
Revisado: 01-11-20
First of all I want to say how enjoyable the narrator was to listen to. His voice and how he presented the story and Billy Todd were absolutely perfect. Admittedly, at first, I was thinking, "Southern Drawl?" but that fit perfectly with the story.
The story was well written and mostly exciting. I would have like to have seen a bit more action and maybe an attack on the "good-guys" settlement. I was waiting for that with all of the talk about fortifications and the build up of weaponry. This is the only reason I didn't give an overall 5 stars.
Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the story and at times couldn't put it down.
I can strongly recommend this book to people that like apocalyptic novels and preppers.

Historia
When an experiment to study quantum uncertainty goes spectacularly wrong, physics student Bill Rustad and his friends find that they have accidentally created an inter-dimensional portal. They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.

Fun, entertaining book.
Revisado: 07-16-19
I've enjoyed this book very much. I really don't think you can go wrong. The idea of Yellowstone Erupting as a super volcano is well presented and I even learned a few things I didn't know.
The narrator is by far my favorite. He's awesome and can be found on some of my favorite audio books like "The Bobiverse" series, and "14" by Peter Cline. Any of the books mentioned will wow you because of how they are written and how plain good the narrator is.

Humous and Entertaining
Revisado: 05-12-19
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. There was a lot of dry humor and the banter between the ex-wife and dead ex-husband was great.
There were two mistakes made with the audio, but nothing too annoying.
I recommend this book.

Good book but horrible ending
Revisado: 08-05-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The reason I was disappointed in the book was that the author didn't finish the story line in the first book even though he easily could have. Instead he made the choice to continue the story in book 2 which feels only like an effort to make more money. A good way to look at this is that Stephen King never would have done this to his readers. All that said I don't have a problem buying books in a series, but this books ending didn't felt wrong. I wouldn't buy the next book (which has gotten poor reviews) because I felt taken advantage of by the ending of the first book.
Would you be willing to try another book from Ian W. Sainsbury? Why or why not?
I would be willing to buy another book from Ian only if it the story was told and finished in one book and had excellent ratings.
What about Todd Boyce’s performance did you like?
The narrative was well done. Todd's creation of the characters voices really worked to create a fullness to the story.
What character would you cut from The World Walker?
The woman politician at the beginning of the book. This character didn't seem to fit well...kind of just stuffed in there with no follow up. I know what the author was trying to do, but this was handled and explained poorly.

People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

I liked humor and the narration. Fisher Stevens is an amazing narrator!

If you could sum up Dead Man's Hand in three words, what would they be?
Buy This Book!
What other book might you compare Dead Man's Hand to and why?
Oh please, a Western Science Fiction? First time I've seen that.
What about Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross ’s performance did you like?
I'm glad that the book had the female character done by a female and male characters by a guy. The dialects portrayed (Old west, Mexican, Native American and Chinese) were done extremely well. Bravo! as they say.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The story about the "death procession" is one that will stick with me for life. Great Story.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

This was a really entertaining book!
Revisado: 01-01-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book is very well written. The story has lots of twists and turns as the characters try to find out what the heck is up with the apartment building they live in. I also liked the male / female relationships that develop.
What was one of the most memorable moments of 14?
Very memorable was when they opened a door in the apartment building that never got opened that led out into space. Real no air all vacuum space.
Which scene was your favorite?
Of course the climax of the story was my favorite, but I'm not going to give that away.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I didn't want to turn it off. I actually set more time apart than I should have to listen to this story.
Any additional comments?
If you're looking for a quirky, super entertaining story that has a twist of science fiction in it this is that book. Bravo to the writer!

A detective story or science fiction?
Revisado: 01-01-15
What made the experience of listening to Lock In (Narrated by Amber Benson) the most enjoyable?
The premise of the book is interesting and thought provoking.I don't usually like detective novels, but this book had some nice science fiction twists.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Chris Shane - the character just takes everything in stride. Chris is also portrayed to be very intelligent.
Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed the scene where the "bad guy" gets caught trying to murder his "sister". (You'll have to listen to the book.)
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
"Lock In - A Who Done It Mystery"
Any additional comments?
If it hadn't have been a detective story it would have gotten 5 stars across the board.

Historia
It used to be true that "dead men tell no tales". But Zimm Industries has changed that, forever. Dr. Thaddeus Zimm has come up with a way to bring the dead back long enough for them to tell their stories, and the story the authorities most want to hear is how they died. Who did it, why did they do it, and did they happen to mention where they might be going next?

Revisado: 11-27-14
Where does Dr. Zimm's Elixir rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book is the most interesting of any the audio books I've read. I normally just listen to audio books in the car, but I ended up listening to Dr. Zimm's Elixir in the home
What was one of the most memorable moments of Dr. Zimm's Elixir?
For me the most memorable moment in the story is when the main character wakes up from an explosion and thinks he is a (wait for it) ...zombie!
What does Dale Dudley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator did a good job on the characters voices. The hardest to do for a male narrator is the female parts. He performed well for all of the characters voices.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
As I got further and further into the story I found that I wanted to listen more and more. If I could of I probaly would have liked to listen to "Dr. Zimm's" in one sitting
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this book. It is not your typical zombie book. If you're looking for a zombie apocalypse story this isn't one. It is really a "who done it" book with an inventive twist using zombies.
