Historia
Julie Rivers has a passion for antiques. She won’t stop until she knows everything about the antiques that come through her shop. While renovating her shop, Julie uncovers something that was never meant to be found. And now someone wants it back, and to keep her quiet. As the newest detective for the Drake Harbor PD, Cole Dekker jumps head first into a case that seems unsolvable. With very little to go on, Cole does a search for similar cases, triggering the FBI to get involved. The man who coldly murdered two sisters in the seemingly quiet town of Drake Harbor is a serial killer.

I enjoyed listening to this book. The suspense was good. The clues great and helpful in following the plot. I liked the small religious parts to the story also. Such a refreshing book to listen to. Enjoyed listening to the reader And no F words!!

Historia
“I’m sorry but the answer’s no.” Reluctant author, Anthony Horowitz, has had enough. He tells ex-detective Daniel Hawthorne that after three books he’s splitting and their deal is over. The truth is that Anthony has other things on his mind. His new play, a thriller called Mindgame, is about to open at the Vaudeville Theater in London’s West End. Not surprisingly, Hawthorne declines a ticket to the opening night. The play is panned by the critics. In particular, Sunday Times critic Margaret Throsby gives it a savage review, focusing particularly on the writing.

Historia
When ex-detective inspector Daniel Hawthorne and his sidekick, author Anthony Horowitz, are invited to an exclusive literary festival on Alderney, an idyllic island off the south coast of England, they don’t expect to find themselves in the middle of murder investigation - or to be trapped with a cold-blooded killer in a remote place with a murky, haunted past.

Difficulty in finding out who done it. Such subtle clues. At first I thought it was Katherine because of the assault. So many people disliked the victim. Not so many Fwords in this one as the previous one.

Historia
“You shouldn’t be here. It’s too late....” These, heard over the phone, were the last recorded words of successful celebrity-divorce lawyer Richard Pryce, found bludgeoned to death in his bachelor pad with a bottle of wine - a 1982 Chateau Lafite worth £3,000, to be precise. Odd, considering he didn’t drink. Why this bottle? And why those words? And why was a three-digit number painted on the wall by the killer? And, most importantly, which of the man’s many, many enemies did the deed?

It’s very hard to find the clues to the murder. They are so vague.
Revisado: 03-21-25
The use of the F word throughout the book made it hard for me to listen to the characters speak. I finally skipped to the last 3 chapters to just find out who the murderer was. To listen to that language is fowl and disgusting. It makes me think the writer isn’t smart or articulate enough to find a better suitable word.

Disturbing
Revisado: 04-20-19
This was a depressing and disturbing book. I know that is to be expected of dystopian novels but usually there is some redeeming value amid the devastation. I just kept listening in hopes of something better. Now I berate myself for that. I should have quit at my first feelings of repulsion.

A fun train ride for me!
Revisado: 01-18-12
Where does The Christmas Train rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book was good enough if you didn't have high expectations. I needed a fun Christmas story to listen to in December. It worked for me.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Christmas Train?
I really liked the sounds and descriptions of the train. It made me feel like riding a train somewhere myself some day.
Any additional comments?
I would recommend it if anyone is looking for a light-hearted, but somewhat mysterious Christmas story for the holidays.
