Historia
In his explosive new book, New York Times best-selling author Bill Gertz uncovers the most significant threat to U.S. national security today: America's enemies, including radical terrorist groups, are arming themselves with the world's most dangerous weapons. And they're doing it with the help of America's supposed allies. Worst of all, the United States has let it happen.

Full of falsehoods
Revisado: 04-04-15
What disappointed you about Treachery?
I know this book is a bit dated but I decided to revisit it. With hindsight being 20/20 this was just a propaganda piece.
Would you ever listen to anything by Bill Gertz again?
NO
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Alan Sklar?
Alan Sklar wasn't the problem, he was fine.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
As it turned out Gertz wrote this book basically based on interviews with the very characters that we now know weren’t telling the truth to the American public.
Any additional comments?
This is not the first time this has happen and won’t be the last, when will people learn?

Historia
If you've wondered how we did not see the economic collapse coming, Ha-Joon Chang knows the answer: We didn't ask what they didn't tell us about capitalism. This is a lighthearted book with a serious purpose: to question the assumptions behind the dogma and sheer hype that the dominant school of neoliberal economists-the apostles of the freemarket-have spun since the Age of Reagan.

Very Informative!
Revisado: 07-21-11
This is a "Must Read!" Ha-Joon Chang points out some very interesting facts. If it would do any good I would propose that every member of congress read this book.

Historia
Space is a world devoid of the things we need to live and thrive: air, gravity, hot showers, fresh produce, privacy, beer. Space exploration is in some ways an exploration of what it means to be human. How much can a person give up? How much weirdness can they take? What happens to you when you can’t walk for a year? Have sex? Smell flowers? What happens if you vomit in your helmet during a space walk? Is it possible for the human body to survive a bailout at 17,000 miles per hour?

It's E-V-A
Revisado: 07-21-11
KK, so I like the book, but call me anal, the narrator kept calling an E-V-A, an eva. Duh! Has this person never watched any NASA TV coverage? I found myself shouting E-V-A by the end. If you can get by that then buy this book! Four stars for the book and two stars for the narrator.

Liked it!
Revisado: 05-31-11
This is a relatively quick story made quicker by the narrator. I've found that the narrator can really make or break the book and Jeremy Klavens almost blew this one. If I had to give him any advice it would be to slow it down a bit and add a little more expression. I liked the story. I don't expect perfection and this one has its flaws but they are easy to overlook. I would recommend this one.

Historia
The year is 2380. The Intersolar Commonwealth, a sphere of stars some 400 light-years in diameter, contains more than 600 worlds, interconnected by a web of transport "tunnels" known as wormholes. At the farthest edge of the Commonwealth, astronomer Dudley Bose observes the impossible: Over 1,000 light-years away, a star...vanishes. It does not go supernova. It does not collapse into a black hole. It simply disappears.

The story my be great
Revisado: 02-12-11
The story may be great, I wouldn't know. After five attempts I still haven't got through the first part. John Lee as a narrator makes me lose all interest. This book just seems to drone on, and on. I won't ever get another book narrated by him.

Something missing
Revisado: 04-28-08
I gave this book three stars not because there was anything wrong with the story, Kim Harrison has done a superb job with this latest Rachel Morgan tale. The thing I found missing was a decent narrator. Gigi Bermingham was unprepared for this role. She badly mispronounced several of the established character names throughout the story. I found this very annoying and was correcting her out loud by the end. By all means buy this book but be prepared for this unpleasant surprise. My advice for the future, bring back Marguerite Gavin !
