Crew and Aria!

Crew was raised in a toxic environment, but he found a home and family with the Montgomery’s. He is best friends with Aria’s brother, and he has been trying to hide his feelings for Aria for years as he believes she deserves more than he can give her. Finding out she is in danger changes everything and he isn’t about to stand on the sidelines any longer.

Aria is torn between her feelings for Crew and being there for someone she cares about. When the situation reaches a crescendo it allows her to acknowledge how she has always felt about Crew but not everyone is happy that they are together.

I enjoyed seeing Crew open up to Aria and let her and the Montgomery’s be there for him as he goes through a difficult time. Their romance is a story about love and what family really means that is filled with all the feels. Oscar Reyes and Lucy Rivers portray both the insecurities that Crew and Aria have as well as the depth of their feelings for each other.

Ryland and Gabby!

When his sister passed away Ryland didn’t think twice about giving up the opportunity to play baseball professionally so that he could raise Mac, his four-year-old niece. He coaches the high school team and between that and his family he believes his life is full into Gabby comes in and shows him how to truly live again.

With no support Gabby has been there to help her brother work toward his dream of playing baseball professionally. When she interviews for an assistant coach at the high school, she doesn’t think it goes well so she shares one night with Ryland after drowning her sorrows. The only catch is she gets the job and they not only find themselves working together but she is renting a home from him as well.

The banter between Ryland and Gabby is humorous, the text strings with his siblings are so much fun and Mac is adorable. Humor, romance and so many feels as two people who have always been there for those they care about finally find the happiness they deserve. The narration only made this story better as the narrators had you immersed in the characters and the story.

Brogan and London!

London doesn’t get a lot of mail but what she does receive is all addressed to the man who had the previous address and to make it worse it contains women’s personal items. By chance she meets him at a club and doesn’t hesitate to tell him how she feels but rather than being deterred it only makes him want her more.

Brogan is a star both on the field and off. Due to his upbringing, he doesn’t allow many people close and the only exception are the Holland brothers who have always been there for him. When he meets London, he wants to spend more time with her so even though they began as pretending to be a couple they soon realize that the only people they are fooling is themselves.

Humorous interactions, great chemistry and even though the circumstances are very different both Brogan and London are dealings with issues when it comes to their family and are there for each other. Jacob Morgan did a fantastic job portraying both the charisma and sensitive sides of Brogan while Juno Cooper allowed us to feel both the sassy side of London as well as her strength.

Avery and Knox!

Knox is a man who put his family first and has only recently been able to pursue his dream of racing however he soon realizes how precarious that position is when he gets into an altercation with a teammate. He now finds himself looking or a new team so he returns home and is convinced by his friend to try freestyle which is how he meets Avery.

Avery is a gymnast who has not only competed in the Olympics but won a medal as well. She is trying to heal from a serious knee injury not only physically but emotionally as well. Even though she and Knox did not get off to a great start they begin training together which leads to a casual relationship that is beginning to feel anything but.

Avery and Knox are both facing challenges and I enjoyed that it wasn’t outside issues that causes conflict. They believe they want different things but once the heart is involved all bets are off as they realize what really matters. The portrayal by the narrators only made this story that much better as you could feel the heat between them, the humor of their story and the emotions they were experiencing.

Colt and Jules!

Colt is a professional goalie who is know for his reputation as a player both on and off the ice. When he needs a place to stay where better than with his best friend who even if that means living to be living with his sister Jules as well. It seemed like the perfect plan until his attempt to protect end results in them pretending to be engaged.

Jules did have feelings for Colt in the past but after the events that transpired that is no longer the case however living. When he is there for her during a tense situation she not only has him as her roommate but her pretend fiancé as well and this time it seems she isn’t the only one with feelings.

Both Colt and Jules are determined to deny their feelings for each other, him because of her brother and her because of the past. Seeing Colt acknowledge how he feels about Jules and show her that she can trust him with her secrets and her heart is an experience you don’t want to miss. Through the narrators you could feel the swoon factor that Colt had as well as the turmoil that Jules was going through which only made the characters more relatable.

Jax and Lucy!

Jax is a professional quarterback who prefers to relax after a game by playing video games with a couple of his teammates. On a rare occurrence when he decides to go out it results in negative publicity that he needs to overcome. As a result, he has fast forwarded his plan to open a sports facility in his hometown with the help of his best friend Tyler and his sister Lucy.

Lucy is a physiotherapist who specializes in children, and she would be the perfect person to help out at the facility. She has always blamed Jax for an event in the past that changed the course of her brother’s life, so she has her reservations about getting involved. As she learns more about what happened and gets to know Jax the sparks fly however their very different lifestyles, and the demands of their careers don’t always make it easy.

Both Lucy and Jax have supportive families and friends who are there for them when challenges arise and show them that they can have it all including each other. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the performance as the narrator did a great job with both the characters of Lucy and Jax.

Darcy and Ewan!

Even though she is off limits for multiple reasons that does not diminish the feelings he has for her.

Darcy has been through so much since the night she spent with Ewan that has made her stronger and more resilient. She never expected to see him again or to find out that they were connected in a way that neither was aware of while trying to arrange her marriage to another man. Is this isn’t tricky she has a few secrets of her own.

Ewan didn’t believe that love or family was in his future while Darcy wanted to do what was best for her daughter. As truths are revealed the feelings and attraction between them was undeniable until they accepted that some things are meant to be. The Irish brogues by both narrators made the characters more relatable and you could feel the angst and love between them.

Zoey and Nash!

From his first meeting with Zoey, Nash knew that what he felt for her was more intense than anything he had felt for another woman even if she tries to avoid him. A few years later when his company needs help with their social media he believes that Zoey is the perfect choice. A business trip to Vegas results in an unplanned marriage and now he has 90 days for Zoey to fall in love with him.

Zoey has recently ended her relationship with her boyfriend, so the job opportunity comes at the perfect time. A little too much fun and a little too much alcohol leads to a marriage that she didn’t believe was real. Now she finds herself moving to California, working and living with Nash while they decide if their marriage was a mistake or destiny.

A little angst, the chemistry between them radiates off the pages and Nash is so thoughtful as all he wants is Zoe’s happiness. It is always fun to catch up with the other members of their families as they offer sage advice and some humor along the way. I enjoyed the audio version of this story as you could feel all the emotions from both their point of views as well as the enduring love they had for each other.

Hollis and Aurora!

Aurora has had feelings for Hollis for years however not only is he 12 years older, her father’s best friend and teammate but he has never seen her as more than his best friend’s daughter. While he is on road trips, she cat-sits for him which leads to a revelation that shows him that she is no longer a girl but a woman however it will be up to her to take it to the next step.

When he was injured a year ago Aurora was there for Hollis as he recovered, and a friendship developed. He been denying his feelings for Aurora due to his friendship with her father, but he realizes it is a battle he will not win and now he can’t imagine a future without her, but will it cost him his friendship?

This story had it all from the humorous situations, the witty banter, the angst, the hot chemistry and a love that is undeniable. Not only are Aurora and Hollis great characters but there is a great cast of secondary characters which only makes this series better. The narrators only made the story better as it will bring a smile to your face as well as pull at your heartstrings while making these characters even more relatable.

Hallie and Lawson!

Lawson is finding it difficult to balance the needs of his boys as well as his job as the Police Chief, so he decides to engage a nanny. The interviews aren’t going well until Hallie comes to his door however they also share a past as he was part of the team that rescued her after she had been abducted.

Hallie has been trying to move forward with her life but the emotional aftermath of what she endured still triggers her at times. Seeing Lawson again should bring up all the bad memories of the past but instead he makes her feel safe and his children give her a purpose that has been missing from her life.

Hallie is strong and resilient and refuses to let the past define who she is. She is exactly who Lawson, and his boys need in their lives as she supports them, and they support her in turn especially as the suspense part of the story escalates and she realizes what family truly means. The performance of the narrators made this story more enjoyable as they brought out all the emotion, intrigue and love that they were feeling.
