Shame on Audible for selling this at full credit price.
First, look at the reviews for other “Greater Than a Tourist” books. They’re bad for a reason.
Then, look at the number of chapters versus the length. This “book” is basically a reading of Wikipedia overviews. You will learn nothing you can’t pick up for free from Wikipedia or Trip Advisor. Spend your money/credits elsewhere.

Historia
It was long ago, but not as long as it seems: The Berlin Wall fell and the Twin Towers collapsed. In between, one presidential election was allegedly decided by Ross Perot while another was plausibly decided by Ralph Nader. Landlines fell to cell phones, the internet exploded, and pop culture accelerated without the aid of technology that remembered everything. It was the last era with a real mainstream to either identify with or oppose. The ’90s brought about a revolution in the human condition, and a shift in consciousness, that we’re still struggling to understand.

Good nostalgia/history, few insights
Revisado: 05-30-22
The book is decent nostalgia for those of us who lived through the 90s, and a light history lesson for those who didn’t. No issues there. The author makes some odd claims (I assure you, many people were asking WHY during the rise of Pauly Shore), and some of his opining about Lewinsky was harsh. But the real issue is there just isn’t much there, there. No real insights or big takeaways. That said, the book is well researched and the performance is good.
