Simply awful!
Revisado: 04-01-12
I love the television show, Castle, and I enjoy suspenceful novels. This book, however, was painful to get through. In the beginning, I kept waiting for it to get better. After about the first hour, I just wanted it to end. I completed it only because I purchased it. My consolation is that I purchased it in one of the buy 2 get 1 free specials. Do not waste your money or credits.

I love the Elm Creekl Quilt Series, and really enjoyed this book, but it was not quite what I expected. I was a little confused in the beginning, but caught on pretty quickly. I love the characters in the series, and missed a few details that I would have liked to have had, but am hopeful she will provide more in future books.

I have enjoyed the continuation of the Cobbled Court Series. Again, Ms. Bostwick allows us to get to know these characters even more intimately and share in their joys and fears. She knows each person very well and gives voice to their changes through life. The narrators do a wonderful job of distinguishing each character as well.

Revisado: 11-25-11
It was definitely a chick read, but I enjoyed it. Parts were quite predictable, but that did not really bother me. I wanted a "lighter" read and that is what I got! I would recommend it and read more of her books.

Sophie Kinsella's debut is a romp through the perils of shopping and spending, spending, spending! Becky can't resist a sale, and she's only a little overdrawn on her VISA. Readers will laugh aloud at Becky's retail adventures as she finds new and creative ways to relieve her increasingly credit card debt. Emily Gray's narration bounces along with Becky and her buying whims, while delivering a humorous account of what happens when credit goes bad.

It was cute, but mostly just a piece of fluff! It was slow in the beginning but picked up speed towards the end. Would make a good vacation listen.

This is the 2nd in the series and the 2nd Bostwick book for me. I again felt captivated with the new and returning characters from the first book. I love the way she continued developing the characters without forgetting their history from the first book. I was captivated from start to finish. Would recommend the series!

Marie Bostwick weaves the unforgettable story of four very different women whose paths cross, changing their lives forever. It’s a long way from Fort Worth, Texas, to New Bern, Connecticut, yet it only takes a day in the charming Yankee town to make Evelyn Dixon realize she’s found her new home. The abrupt end of her marriage was Evelyn’s wake-up call to get busy chasing her dream of opening a quilt shop. Finding a storefront is easy enough; starting a new life isn’t....

I had never read Ms. Bostwick's books when I downloaded this book. I really enjoyed her careful creation of each character and back story and the way she weaved their lives together. It was a serious read with many opportunities to laugh and cry with the characters! I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

New York Times best-selling author Jennifer Chiaverini’s beloved Elm Creek Quilts series here takes listeners back to the Civil War for a powerful tale of husbands, wives, and a nation torn apart. This book was full of wonderful historical references that brought the Civil War to life in great detail! I thoroughly enjoy this series, and appreciate how she brings these characters to life (whether it is the modern day quilters or their ancestors). I eagerly await the next in the series!

Great Summer Read!
Revisado: 08-23-11
I truly enjoyed listening to this book. I downloaded prior to going to Folly Beach and enjoyed it while there. Her descriptions of the area were spot on and I enjoyed visiting several of the places she referenced in her book during my trip (Taco Boy, the Charleston Musuem, the lighthouse, the Porgy House)! The story held my attention and I felt the characters were family by the time the book was finished. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the beautiful descriptions of the low country and who enjoys a beautiful generational story. At times, I wanted to cry and 10 minutes later I would laugh outloud. Enjoy!

Hard to listen to
Revisado: 09-24-10
This was a mistake for me to purchase so soon after losing my own mother-in-law to cancer. The relationship in the story was so ugly at times, and there was no clear person to root for, that it became frustrating at times. While I was blessed with a good relationship with my mother-in-law, this story perpetuated the ugly stigmas attached to most in-laws. While I try never to regret a book that I might not enjoy, assuming I can appreciate something about each one of them, I was relieved when this one finally ended.
