I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook narrated by Emma Thompsen. Very well done from the narrator and the cast. I would listen to it again and recommend it to other fans of Jane Austen's Emma.

Where does The End of the Affair rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed this audiobook, but it won't become a favorite.

What did you like best about this story?

Colin Firth's narration, hands down, is the best part of the story. I also liked the ending, surprisingly. The two men that loved her the most becoming sort of friends, clinging to each other in an attempt to keep her memory alive for both of them.

What about Colin Firth’s performance did you like?

He was Morris. The passion, the love, the bitterness, the jealousy was all there as if Colin was living the story as opposed to reading it aloud.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This is the kind of story where I really want to hit the characters upside the head with their own book. Morris' jealousy driving the wedge between the lovers, his bitterness that keeps him away from Sarah, and her sheer stupidity for running out in the cold rain when she's already ill just to avoid him. I cared about the characters which is why I got so annoyed with them and, to me, that's the hallmark of good writing.

Any additional comments?

If you can, get Colin Firth to narrate more books. He has the knack of making already good books live in the imagination.

If you could sum up The Call of the Cthulhu and Oher Stories in three words, what would they be?

Imaginative, horrific, and mesmerizing

What other book might you compare The Call of the Cthulhu and Oher Stories to and why?

The short stories of Edgar Allan Poe. Poe and Lovecraft are both masters of horror. The kind that gives you nightmares and enjoyment in a well written story at the same time.

Have you listened to any of Gareth David-Lloyd and Ian Fairbairn ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Gareth David-Lloyd before but not Ian Fairbairn. Gareth is one of those narrators that could make reading the phone book interesting listening. This is one of his best performances, though. He gets so involved in the story that he takes you right along with him.

If you could rename The Call of the Cthulhu and Oher Stories, what would you call it?

Masterpiece of the Macabre

Any additional comments?

I think it would've been even better if Gareth David-Lloyd had narrated all of the stories. Ian did a good job, but next to Gareth, Ian's performance felt lackluster even though the stories he read were still creepy as hell.

Would you listen to Go the F--k to Sleep again? Why?

Over and over and over! It's exactly what every parent wants to tell their child when trying to get them to sleep. It's hilarious.

What other book might you compare Go the F--k to Sleep to and why?

I can't think of another book that would even come close to comparing to Go the F--k to Sleep. It's in a class all by itself.

What about Samuel L. Jackson’s performance did you like?

It's Samuel L Jackson, what's not to like? He does such a fantastic job of portraying the desperation a parent feels in trying to get their kids to go to sleep. You know right away that he's been in this situation and understands what other parents feel.

If you could rename Go the F--k to Sleep, what would you call it?

A Parent's Bedtime Story

Any additional comments?

Love it!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I'd highly recommend this audiobook to a friend, in fact, I sent it as a gift to my daughter just today.
Learning the background story of how Jackson Galaxy became the Cat Daddy is very entertaining and thought provoking.

What did you like best about this story?

It feels very personal, like Jackson is sitting in my living room telling me the story of his life.

Which character – as performed by Jackson Galaxy – was your favorite?

Jackson Galaxy himself. Getting a glimpse into his life was fascinating.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Good question. The book already kind of has a tagline in the title. I'd probably use something along the lines of "Rescued by a Rescue Cat".

Any additional comments?

I am so glad I purchased this audiobook! It made me laugh, it made me sob like a baby, and it made me appreciate my three cats even more than I already did.

My favorite Agatha Christie novel

Where does The Secret of Chimneys rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's difficult to rank this book among the others that I've listened to as they are all such different types of books. The Secret of Chimneys would definitely be close to the top, though.

What did you like best about this story?

This has always been my favorite novel by Agatha Christie. There's something about Anthony Cade that I've loved from the first time I read the book. His carefree manner vs his secretive nature just draws me in every time.
A very likeable main character, a murder mystery, and all set at an English house-party...it just comes together for me and keeps me entertained from the very first word to the very last.

What does Hugh Fraser bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The accents. Hugh Fraser's ability to use different accents for every character really makes the book come alive in a way you don't get if you just read the book. Not only does he do several different British accents, but he's also great with the American, French, and Baltic area accents. He makes it that much more entertaining to listen vs read.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Without giving too much away about the murder mystery, I'd have to say the scene where they find out who the murderer really is and everyone's reactions. Especially George Lomax - the politician who thinks he knows everything - his reaction is priceless.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend getting The Secret of Chimneys as an audio book. The story itself is one of Agatha Christie's best, in my opinion. Hugh Fraser's performance is spot on and his voice is very enjoyable listening.
