Historia
In The Serendipity Mindset, Christian Busch explains that serendipity isn't about luck in the sense of simple randomness. It's about seeing links that others don't, combining these observations in unexpected and strategic ways, and learning how to detect the moments when apparently random or unconnected ideas merge to form new opportunities. Busch explores serendipity from a rational and scientific perspective and argues that there are identifiable approaches we can use to foster the conditions to let serendipity grow.

Value every interaction you have!
Revisado: 01-30-24
Whether it is people, places, or things, pay attention to the interaction you are having. We often say, "Things happen for a reason." The value of this statement is recognizing and remembering the situation. Who knows when that event will pop up again with an extremely valuable connection in the future?

Historia
Author David Brooks explores the four commitments that define a life of meaning and purpose: to a spouse and family, to a vocation, to a philosophy or faith, and to a community. Our personal fulfillment depends on how well we choose and execute these commitments. Brooks looks at a range of people who have lived joyous, committed lives, and who have embraced the necessity and beauty of dependence. He gathers their wisdom on how to choose a partner, how to pick a vocation, how to live out a philosophy, and how we can begin to integrate our commitments into one overriding purpose.

Concept was sound until the approach to second mt.
Revisado: 01-30-24
The book started well. There are many strong examples of people achieving great success only to find that it did not have enough sustainable contentment. Some early examples showed how people pushed up the second mountain to find contentment and happiness. However, as the book progressed, I got lost in climbing the second mountain and the religious theory that dominated the last chapters. It was hard to finish.

Neuroscientists and cognitive scientists have made enormous strides in understanding the brain and how we learn, but little of that insight has filtered down to the way teachers teach. Uncommon Sense Teaching applies this research to the classroom for teachers, parents, and anyone interested in improving education.

Best definition of who WE are!
Revisado: 01-30-24
Michael has a charismatic way of presenting his teachings that keep you entertained and focused on the topics being taught. I also thought that he did a masterful job at connecting his spiritual teaching to real life with examples. While most of us have not felt the nirvana Michael talks about when the flow of Qi is pure, he does give enough examples of what small steps we can expect along the journey. I loved this book. Shared it with all my family members and friends.

A good take action book!
Revisado: 11-02-20
I liked the way Jim outlined the key principles of the skills that everyone of us possesses and it is really a matter of choosing to do something with those skills. None of them are rocket science and most of these techniques have existed for hundreds of years. What Jim did in his book was made these techniques easily accessible to use and practice.
I enjoyed the book.

Historia
Scott Adams was one of the earliest public figures to predict Donald Trump’s election. The mainstream media regarded Trump as a lucky clown, but Adams - best known as “the guy who created Dilbert” - recognized a level of persuasion you only see once in a generation. We’re hardwired to respond to emotion, not reason, and Trump knew exactly which emotional buttons to push. The point isn’t whether Trump was right or wrong, good or bad. Adams goes beyond politics to look at persuasion tools that can work in any setting - the same ones Adams saw in Steve Jobs.

Yuk, Yuk, Yuk, I really fell for that!
Revisado: 11-02-20
As they say hindsight is 20/20. What an eye opening book of the power of influence. At times reading this book made me shake my head about how obvious but how oblivious the power of influence can be. While the presidential election in the USA is a big thing and highlight of the news, sit back and think about all the other places the power of influence affects our daily lives. Kind of makes your skin crawl a bit because we get sucked into the illusion of making and then justifying to ourselves decisions we have made. Our everyday biases blind us way too often. Keep your eyes open and think before you act.

Authentic story of life's modality
Revisado: 11-02-20
In my opinion Tara did a wonderful job of connecting with the reader. You could feel the decisions and anxieties that she went through to make some of her life changing decisions. What I loved is that she was patient and allowed the fulfillment of her dreams to come to fruition. Too often authors talking about the power of the universe make it sound like it just magically happens overnight. Tara's story is real, it is believable, she executed her plan with her eyes wide open which made it inspiring.

The chief scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) turns a critical eye toward such practices as telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, and psychokinesis. Are such powers really possible? Science says yes. According to noted scientist and best-selling author of The Conscious Universe, Dean Radin, magic is a natural aspect of reality, and each of us can tap into this power with diligent practice.
