Historia
The best-selling author of Truman and John Adams, David McCullough has written profiles of exceptional men and women past and present who have not only shaped the course of history or changed how we see the world but whose stories express much that is timeless about the human condition. Here are Alexander von Humboldt, whose epic explorations of South America surpassed the Lewis and Clark expedition; Harriet Beecher Stowe, "the little woman who made the big war”....

Another great book by David McCullough
Revisado: 09-16-22
He was an amazing and prolific writer. He taught and inspired me through reading many of his wonderful books. I am glad he lived. A true American. This book gave us a glimpse of many pioneers of different ages in America. So beautifully written and well researched. What more can I say? I am sad he is gone .

Good start, disappointing ending.
Revisado: 07-12-22
It seemed like it was going to be a good book, good writing. However the protagonist is selfish and immature when she makes a terrible decision how to get herself out of society. She doesn’t realize how this will affect her sister and others who care about her, plus her own life. I Didn’t like the ending because I don’t want to read about any kind of child abuse. I wasn’t expecting that. I hope her other books overcome these flaws.

Rather disgusting. Sex and unbelievable characters
Revisado: 03-01-21
Everyone was beautiful, sexy, and uninteresting. Actually all the characters seemed to think about was hopping into bed with another unrealistic character.
Could not finish it. For me a waste of a credit!

Love this series!
Revisado: 01-02-20
I was disappointed in how it ended! It did not make me happy. I don’t like having to get the next book to get a sense of closure. So I was a bit disappointed.

Second Book in Series Lacking
Revisado: 05-21-18
I like Ellery Adams as an author, but in this series she falls short. I can't enjoy the main character because he is not improving from the first book. The first book was pretty good, but the second one falls short of my expectations. He just keeps being indecisive and just plain dumb about relationships. Maybe it will get better, but I think I will read others of her books first!
