Ramon “Ray” Cosa’s life is not what he expected it to be. Living in a small Texas town ravaged by Hurricane Harvey, Ray has suffered many losses in his young life, and he has little hope left that anything will ever change or get better. That is, until the vintage Ford Galaxie and its strange, dying owner enters Ray’s life. Given a jeweled ring he cannot remove and a desperate mission, Ray is plunged into a universe of secrets, wonders, and terrors he never dreamed exists. Now, he travels the Queen's Road - a hyper-space highway that connects all the planets in creation.

Wild ride
Revisado: 06-06-20
I had a hard time putting this audiobook down. Good character development and great performance. Already chanting for book 2. Please?!?
Interesting sci-fi. Nice idea with an interstellar/intergalactic highway system, you can travel in your vehicle. Lots of life in the universe; organic/non-organic, carbon based or not, artificial intelligence or not and - of course - a couple of villains to keep our heroes busy.

Historia
When a young woman comes forward saying she’s the reincarnation of Riya Kaur, a wife and mother who vanished during the bloody 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Puri is dismissive. He’s busy enough dealing with an irate matrimonial client whose daughter is complaining about her groom’s thunderous snoring. Puri’s indomitable Mummy-ji, however, is adamant the client is genuine. How else could she so accurately describe under hypnosis Riya Kaur’s life and final hours?

Revisado: 03-21-20
I was so excited to finally see a new Vish Puri mystery and it didn't disappoint. Same great twists and turns. Lots of humor too.
Sam Dastor's performance is wonderful as usual.
If you enjoyed the previous Vish Puri mysteries, you'll like this one too. Looking forward to the next one...

Heros and villains and a princess and magic
Revisado: 08-06-18
Wonderful storyline and characters kept me well entertained throughout this book. I was ready for more when it ended and thankfully there are two more books in the series.
If you like fantasy and magic plus some sword fighting, thieves with a conscience, listen to this book. It has a great plot.
Tim Gerard Reynolds is perfect as the narrator! He really brings the characters to life.
Such a pleasure to listen to!

Mother and warrior. Scholar and spy. Rebel and hero. Set in a magical world of terror and wonder, this novel is a deeply felt epic of courage and war, in which the fates of these characters intertwine - and where ordinary people become heroes, and their lives become legend.

Epic story with great characters...
Revisado: 08-06-18
It took me a while to get into this book. The universe and magic Hearne has imagined here is so very different from his Iron Druid Chronicles. I definitely recommend reading the little PDF Audible offers with the book. It introduces the characters and maps the world as the author imagined it.
Once I got to know the characters and understood the concepts of this universe' magic, I was really hooked. I've listened to the book twice now, to make sure I got all the details. Second time was even better than the first...
I'm a big fan of Luke Daniels and his many voices fit the characters in this book very well. Xe Sands does a good job too, but sometime she was so soft spoken I could barely hear what was said. Especially if there was a bit background noise like when driving.
Now, if Mr. Hearne would please hurry up and finish/publish book 2... I'm ready...

Good continuation of the story line
Revisado: 06-28-18
I must join so many other reviewers and lament the use of multiple narrators. Iron Gold should have been read only by Tim Gerard Reynolds, who did such a splendid job narrating the first 3 books in the series. The other narrators are mostly ok, but they certainly didn't add anything to the overall performance, that Reynolds couldn't have delivered better.
As for the story, I enjoyed it! A nice continuation of the first 3 books in the series. The book leaves us with cliffhangers on almost every level. Clearly Pierce Brown has more books in the series in the works...
If you liked the first 3 books in the Red Rising series, definitely listen to this one too.
