I tried to like it. Even though I'm not a fan of hood storyline I gave it a try. I appreciate the struggle but the main character is just ridiculous. He's not a good person and fights everyone for no reason. Mary is supposed to be so holy but she's really just judgmental and stupid. Together they disrespect each other and call it love. I struggled to get through it. I had to go back repeatedly because I fell asleep.

There are moments where I laughed out loud, much to the dismay of ppl who couldn't see my earphones. This was such a good listen. I have already recommended the series to other people based on this book. I liked the 1st two. This one I loved.

I was skeptical that he would make a good match because of his violent nature. however I was impressed with how it was made to work. He didn't get turned into a Saint, he just worked to get better. He and Ella's are electric. It's worth the listen or read.

Polos tale is good. He loved her but it wasn't enough. All I could hear is the song I deserve by Tank as the book ended. I enjoyed it. Sometimes it's not as black and white as just walking away. Sometimes it's harder to stay.

Not sure why people aren't liking this one but I enjoyed it. It doesn't have the steamy love scenes but it has genuine connections with the characters. The voice actor is the same with other books and he voice is soothing. If you like the series this is another good edition.

Spoiler Alert...Elosie was awful

Ok. For fairness the book is well written. The story of the two was cute. But here's my problem. The way the book vilified Lyn for been a "strong"(I really hate this stereotype) black woman. She was confident and knew her mind. Her friends just went along with her, but didn't express their opinions. So she comes off witchy. This is done so that when the shy little white girlv(Elosie) falls for her strapping black athletic doctor ex we don't get offended. We don't examine the fact that Lyn is right and he completely gaslight her when she was married to him. And he best friend betrayed her by choosing to date her ex. Elosie hid her relationship from people she called her best friends. And was overly judgemental when it came to Lyn. They were never really friends.
