Historia
Rising to accept a prestigious award, Jody Lulich wondered what to say. Describe how caring for helpless, voiceless animals in his own shame and pain provided a lifeline, a chance to heal himself as well? Lulich tells his story in In the Company of Grace, a memoir about finding courage in compassion and strength in healing-and power in finally confronting the darkness of his youth.

An inspiring and moving memoir
Revisado: 12-16-24
The author takes us on his journey from a childhood filled with loss and pain to his becoming a man who has helped and inspired countless people. We meet Grace Hooks, an elderly woman from whom he rented a room while he was in vet school. We learn the stories of her life as a black woman during the Jim Crow era. Her stories of courage and determination in the face of prejudice are an inspiration for us all and Jody makes sure they will not be fogotten.
The book is extremely touching. I couldn’t put it down. The narrator does an excellent job bringing the stories to life. I strongly recommend that you give In the Company of Grace a listen.

Historia
In the spring of 1903, locomotive 311, known as the Majestic, carried more than one hundred passengers toward a tunnel through the underbelly of the Canadian Rockies. But then the mouth of the tunnel swallowed the 311 whole, and the train—and everyone on it—was never seen again. Seven years later, a gang of cattle thieves and cutthroats wait on horseback for a train car full of railway cash—a payroll they intend to steal. What they will discover, however, is that the approaching train isn’t the 5409. It’s the missing 311, a train only whispered about around dying campfires.

Interminable pointless mishmash
Revisado: 05-06-24
It just went on forever with each chapter more bizarre than the last and none of them tying together. I stayed with it for all 13 hours because I wanted to see how it turned out. I wish I hadn’t.

Sweet and touching story
Revisado: 05-19-23
I couldn’t put this one down. The characters are well-drawn and likable. The narrator does a great job giving all the characters distinctive voices. I cared about the characters and got really caught up in the story. When it ended I didn’t want to let them go so I went back to the beginning and listened to the whole book again. I’ve seldom he a book make me want to go back and listen again.

Enjoyable mystery with engaging characters
Revisado: 01-26-23
Well-drawn characters in a mystery in small town Minnesota. Likable sheriff character learning to care for himself as he is taking care of the the residents of his town. It made me want to read another book with the same characters.

Historia
Everyone has wanted their favorite book to be real, if only for a moment. Everyone has wished to meet their favorite characters, if only for a day. But be careful in that wish, for even a history laid in ink can be repaid in flesh and blood, and reality is far deadlier than fiction...especially on Addington Isle.

I couldn’t put it down. I’ll remember this book for a long time. The characters are vividly drawn and relatable. The plot is full of surprises and unlike anything I have read.

Here is how my association with Feximal came about. I dare say it may not be quite what you expect.

Entertaining and surprisingly moving
Revisado: 09-30-22
At first I was enjoying the book as a series of entertaining adventures that the two characters experienced. Then as we saw their relationship growing and deepening over time, I found it increasingly moving.
