Historia
America’s chaotic retreat from Afghanistan in 2021 was nothing short of a horror show. Women and children were trampled to death outside the gates of the Kabul airfield. Desperate Afghans fell from the landing gear of departing planes. Taliban fighters mercilessly whipped and humiliated U.S. civilians. Countless Afghan interpreters were abandoned to the mercy of the Taliban after risking their lives alongside American troops for years. And thirteen U.S. service members were murdered in an ISIS suicide bombing. Still, the full story is worse than anyone imagined.

Never forget!
Revisado: 10-24-23
I hope Americans NEVER forget the senseless deaths of 13 young Americans dead because a incoherent, incompetent, pathological lying tiny selfish man had to show the world what a true coward he is. SAY THEIR NAMES JOE!!!!

When a drug-addled Hunter Biden abandoned his waterlogged computer at a Mac repair shop in Delaware in the spring of 2019, just six days before his father announced his candidacy for the United States presidency, it became the ticking time bomb in the shadows of Joe Biden’s campaign.

We finally get a look into corrupt American politicians
Revisado: 10-17-23
This made me frustrated, infuriated, and disappointed. Joe Biden is not only a corrupt politician but he’s a terrible father. You don’t allow your drug addicted child access to millions of dollars to facilitate policy influence bribes, JOE! Even more infuriating is the DOJ, FBI, and Corporate media conspiring to hide FACTS from American voters. We are officially a banana republic!!!

It is the most famous military installation in the world. And it doesn't exist. Located a mere s75 miles outside of Las Vegas in Nevada's desert, the base has never been acknowledged by the US government - but Area 51 has captivated imaginations for decades. Annie Jacobsen had exclusive access to 19 men who served the base proudly and secretly for decades and are now aged 75-92, and unprecedented access to 55 additional military and intelligence personnel, scientists, pilots, and engineers linked to the secret base, 32 of whom lived and worked there for extended periods.

Absolutely agree with most of this book
Revisado: 10-15-22
Although I don’t completely agree with every point, what was said HAD TO BE SAID. This is a wake up call that upper echelon of the military have become politicians and have completely lost sight of the reasons they are in the positions they’re in. There comes a point in the military when Officers and Senior NCO’s have to realize they actually work for their JR members. It’s their obligation to make sure their people are taken care of FIRST! Unfortunately most of these senior leaders are more worried about self preservation and securing their own careers. The military loves to make Americans think it’s a very well oiled machine but those of us who served know too well the constant BS that goes on. WE need to make it clear the military is not here to make Generals and Admirals rich, it’s not here for political social experiments, it exits to crush any entity that threatens our people and democracy. I salute Mr. Scheller for taking a stand!!

In the summer of 1967, Mark Garrison had dropped out of college at Southern Illinois University just before entering his third year. He had run out of money and had to work for a while. These were the days before the lottery and the draft soon came calling. In order to somewhat control his own future, he enlisted in the US Army's helicopter flight school program. Little did he know that this adventure would be the most profound experience of his life.

Members of the military’s special operations branches share a closely guarded secret: They love their jobs. They relish the opportunity to fight. They are thankful for it, even, and hopeful that maybe they’ll get to kill a bunch of bad guys while they’re at it. You don’t necessarily need to thank them for their service - the pleasure is all theirs. In this hilarious and personal memoir, listeners ride shotgun alongside former Army Ranger and private military contractor and current social media phenomenon Mat Best, into the action and its aftermath, both abroad and at home.

This was an outstanding and entertaining listen, although if I wanted to listen to bloated sex stories I could go visit my 34 year old neighbor who lives with his mom. But, still, I completely recommend this book especially to former veterans, makes you feel like you’re back in the duty room…

Historia
Investigative journalist Matthew Cole tells the story of the most lauded unit, SEAL Team 6, revealing a troubling pattern of war crimes and the deep moral rot beneath authorized narratives. From their origins in World War II, the SEALs have trained to be specialized killers with short missions. As the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan became the endless War on Terror, their violence spiraled out of control. Code Over Country details the high-level decisions that unleashed the SEALs’ carnage and the coverups that prevented their crimes from coming to light.

What I expected
Revisado: 07-27-22
I watched a few interviews with this author and it was very clear he’s absolutely liberal, grew up in one of the most liberal cities in the U.S, now lives in the other most liberal city, oh and also works in the most liberal industry. I was intrigued after watching his interviews, he tries to give himself credibility, as most journalists do who report on the military, by pointing out he embedded during the wars in the Middle East. This book is riddled with anti-conservative messages. but what always makes me suspicious is when a writer uses the phrases “war crimes” and “atrocities”. It seems the “war crimes”and “atrocities” are always committed by the U.S., the terrorists always get a pass. I don’t give one f what happens to a terrorists body after he’s killed. He’s calling out SEAL Team members for using SEAL Team 6 for capitol gain, but Mr. Cole is also cashing checks using the SEAL Team brand. At least those guys put in the blood sweat and tears, deployed, served this country at the highest level. What has Mr. Cole done?? Also, I’m very glad to hear the Osama Bin Laden op was a KILL order. This author refers to Bin Laden and other terrorists as “victims”. It makes me smile knowing the last thing Bin Laden saw was the business end of an American made assault rifle! All that being said the book is worth the listen, the narrator captures the sarcastic tone of the author who clearly thinks America should send the nice soldiers to war…

Here are thrilling, never-before-heard stories of the Army's elite aviation unit - the most daring and professional helicopter crews in the world. Special Operations pilots are notoriously reticent; they don't talk about their missions, at least not to anyone outside their small community. But now, with the publication of The Night Stalkers, Durant and Steven Hartov shed a fascinating light on these mysterious super commandos and take readers into a world they have only imagined.

Great story of an air service that’s rarely talked about. The book is very well written and the narrator does a great job telling the story. Only one criticism, I understand the narrator is trying to animate certain parts, but maybe make the characters sound less like cartoon characters…

Revisado: 04-15-22
I watched the HBO series “Generation Kill” and was intrigued how different the book would be. The series was actually very accurate. In fact, I would suggest watching the series first. Being a veteran I was able to relate to the questionable and sometimes incompetent leadership, the military is full of it. Although the author makes his liberal views obvious, I think he does a great job of giving straight and non political accounts of this story.

In the U.S. Marine Corps, the most dangerous job in combat is that of the sniper. With no backup and little communication with the outside world, these men disappear for weeks on end in the wilderness with nothing but intellect and iron will to protect them - as they watch, wait, and finally strike. But of all of the snipers who ever hunted human prey, one man stands above the rest as the most legendary fighting man to ever pull a trigger. That man is Carlos Hathcock.
