A satirical hare-raising romp

"Bunny In Time" is a delightful and imaginative tale that blends whimsy with adventure. This satirical story follows a discolored bunny on a remarkable journey through space and time, filled with colorful characters like the free-spirited "hoppies" and the pragmatic Dr. Leong.

Pellerin masterfully weaves fantasy elements with sci-fi concepts such as time travel and ancient alien experiments, creating a narrative that is both fun and intense. The book explores societal values, media influence, and the nature of the universe through exaggerated scenarios and ironic twists.

Balancing humor with more serious undertones, the story challenges conventional perceptions and encourages readers to find meaning in the mundane. Recurring themes of reality vs. perception, critique of media and corporate influence, and the paradox of peace and conflict provide a thought-provoking backdrop to the entertaining plot.

This book kept me engaged from start to finish. It is a must-read for fans of fantasy and science fiction!

Read no further if you're worried about spoilers. I do like this series. But this book is a slow burn to an incredible cliffhanger. I am one of those people who absolutely hate cliffhangers in movies and books. Had I known, I would have waited for another in the series to be available before purchasing this one. This is half a book. Not cool when the next installment isn't readily available. If you don't mind cliffhangers, go for it. If you're like me, check to see if the next book is available before moving forward. I will read the reviews before reading/listening to the next installment so I don't get stuck in this situation again.

Dramatized format is terrible

In my opinion, the dramatized format is terrible, and the constant disconcerting background noises and sounds are useless at best. The voice acting is awful. I listen to audiobooks to relax; there was nothing relaxing about this. I found myself wanting to turn it off constantly due to the noises, useless chatter, and clatter. I can't decide which was worse, the initial moronic Pandora AI that couldn't do anything correctly because it needed pedantic instructions or the inept crew who weren't intelligent enough to have learned to use the AI's limited capabilities correctly. This "drama" is a short story at best that is padded with inane monologue and sound effects in an attempt to make it marketable on Audible.

I enjoy most books by Mark Wayne McGinnis, and I absolutely loved the Scrapyard Ship series, but not this one. This was very much like a rehash of Independence Day with low IQ aliens utilizing low technology. I actually found nothing interesting in this book, and I did not care about any of the characters. Sad, I had hoped for more.

I absolutely loved the Void Trilogy and was really excited to see a new series available. Unfortunately, I found this book to be common, plodding, droning, pedantic and boring. I couldn't make it. So sad, I really wanted to like it.

Fantasy. Sarcastic YA AI gaming console. A boring video game in a book format. I've requested a refund. This entire book is about an AI with a teenage attitude that traps and experiments on mutants in the near post-apocalyptic future. Nothing new, nothing interesting.

Only Military And Political Fiction - No Science

This is simple military and political fiction. No science fiction here. The books timeframe is somewhere in the future, and there's an alien or two, but that doesn't make it science fiction or even fantasy. I found it to be a boring laundry list of daily activities.

What would have made Erebus better?

Very disappointing. After the first book I couldn't wait on the second, I've never been so disappointed in a sequel. Erebus and Endeavour don't even seem to be in the same series. I couldn't believe all the original characters, tech, and aliens are not in this book. This is a detective short story masquerading as science fiction with massive amounts of useless filler and the new narration was terrible.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ralph Kern again?

No

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Shaun Grindell?

The original narrator.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Erebus?

The entire detective arc.

Would you try another book from James R Wells and/or Mitchell Lucas?

No.

What could James R Wells have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not try to pass off Fiction as Science Fiction.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None. Monotonous and boring.

Any additional comments?

This is mostly politics, not Science Fiction. Boring.
