This woman is overwrought
Revisado: 11-15-23
I can’t believe at no point this woman did not get competent legal assistant.
I got tired of the poor little southern nice girl routine. She had a sad dependency on men and people she needed help early in life and no one tired to help. Her family only seen her as a money source.
She had post pardon depression and no Gynecologist spotted that? What happened to her personal OB that delivered her babies?
How could the State of California allow a bankrupt, alcoholic work a supposed unstable woman like a top Pop Star.
Brittney was so naive she just excepted everything rather than fight back refusing to perform and demand a court appearance.
These people are not family just money grubbing lunatics.
Brittney never was fully mentally strong.

BORING
Revisado: 10-18-22
I’m having a hard time finishing this book.
Reading the book description I thought wow
another perspective from an African sister on medical school and her experience. I
I loved her cultural insight her family was all up in her business and schooling. They decided what she should do with her life at birth. African parents can seriously give a hard run to Asian parents for your money on any bet.

Different but the same
Revisado: 08-08-22
Wow this was a eye opener.
It hit on so many topics.
The first is the Asian stereotype of excellent. Expectations of parents for children to succeed at all cost.
The tiger mom who still attempts to control her 30 yr. old daughters life.
The father who attempts to live his thru his daughter.
Discrimination that he experienced is still a hidden issue his daughter is facing in the hierarchy of legal profession.
The humor and struggles of a budding romance makes this book delightful and relatable. The journey to fulfillment and happiness is one we all struggle to overcome.
Great read.

Exstordinary storyline
Revisado: 03-31-22
I really was surprised how story snuck up on me.
I have to prepare myself for the long dialog Australian and British authors give their characters. It takes a while to get into their stories, but the characters are always well flushed out so you can actually see them.
The story is so complete that all the characters are people you recognize, they fit. The book is not make believe it’s a portrait of ordinary everyday people and the issues life takes them thru.
I liked the book so will anyone reading.

Chilling description of return vet PTSD
Revisado: 02-26-22
My cousin did two tours of Vietnam as a Marine. I just know my 10 year old self was petrified of his night sweats and flash backs. My sister would sit and hold him all night. My parents also helped carry him thru. US government did nothing but deny claims. Americans turned their back in judgement of returning soldiers. Like these 18-24 yrs olds had a choice.
This book was hard for me to listen to so realistic I felt the emotions.
This was a great story . I give this book a READ. Great story .

This woman’s story is one for the ages.
What a badazz! The most humble respect. The life she lived facing down challenges to live her dream.
To bad people are just realizing the amazing contributions she made as a human computer. Highlighting talent, ability and dedication is not determined by color nor gender. Just a dream you’re willing to work toward.

What a read. I must say lawyers make the best authors.
Who best to weave a murder mystery than a prosecuting attorney. If you thought she presented an excellent case during the OJ case she doubled down here. Unfortunately L.A.P.D’s shenanigans up ended her case . Here she shows how you get away with murder.
Every book I’ve read by her leaves me satisfied. When you she her name as author you’re guaranteed a great read!

Color blind society?
Revisado: 12-05-21
I had to check the date on this book as it’s ideology seems a bit outdated.
Then on second thought it fit exactly what people who all of a sudden discovers a mixed heritage that they didn’t know about. Especially one where the woman (mother) had an affair that resulted in a child that was pinned on a unsuspecting husband. The question becomes was the husband in the dark or hide the affair once child was born looking white.
The fact that each of these characters had an issue with suspected African roots calling themselves African American was a bit insulting. One was privileged and looked nothing of his heritage. The other was blond and blue eyed with little connection to the disadvantages blacks face daily. Interesting story that shows what happens when colorism arise from past family deeds. We are not a color blind society.

Historia
Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....

What a waste
Revisado: 12-01-21
Why is every woman done wrong story have a totally clueless woman.
Every in this small town knows and has commented on Mike and Bebe including Lacy’s mother but no one mentioned it to her. That begs the question what the hell did Lacy think when she never goes on trip with her husband , has very little intimate relations with Mike? She a stay home house wife with no children .
I really hated this story Lacy was clueless she had no idea of home expenses or money. Any wife in the 21st century that let the man handle everything and no knowledge of financial state is a fool. I wish I knew how foolish this story was before purchasing.

Confused
Revisado: 10-18-21
Heath and Julia met and began a relationship 6 yrs after their respective
divorces. Why would ANYBODY have an issue with their being together? They were not the adulteress. They both were blameless in the affair their spouses carried on.
Both Michael and Adam could overlook what damage their mother and Eddy’s infidelity had done to their father and Julia was woefully ignorant. That they could say Julia was untrustworthy and kept her daughters away from their father was truly arrogant and showed their lack of unwillingness to see truth. How dose someone kept grown adults from interacting with their father? Maybe they should look at dad’s interactions with his daughters as a reason for estrangement.
Great storyline, just thought reactions to Julia and Heath dating didn’t add up.
