Historia
This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Author gave up on series. Don't waste your time.
Revisado: 04-26-23
This started out as one of the greatest stories I've heard. Unfortunately, the author seems more interested in live streaming himself playing video games than writing and its been 12 years since the last book came out. I guess he got his payday on the first two books and lost his hunger for writing. So unless you like stories with no conclusion, stay away from this series. Maybe one day it will get a final book, but don't hold your breath.

Historia
When Twenty Years After opens it is 1648: the Red Sphinx, Cardinal Richelieu, is dead, France is ruled by a regency in the grip of civil war, and across the English Channel the monarchy of King Charles I hangs by a thread. As d’Artagnan will find, these are problems that can’t be solved with a sword thrust. In Twenty Years After, the musketeers confront maturity and face its greatest challenge: sometimes, you fail. It’s in how the four comrades respond to failure, and rise above it, that we begin to see the true characters of Dumas’s great heroes.

An excellent sequel

After enjoying the Three Musketeers I was excited to start on this one. I think I might even like it better. The narrator did an excellent job.
Highly recommended!

Historia
Trust. Betrayal. Revenge. The Count of Monte Cristo is the quintessential masterpiece of Alexandre Dumas. In Edmond Dantes we find an early materialization of the modern superhero. He is a dashing young sailor imprisoned unjustly for treason. While in prison he meets a holy man who imparts to him all his wisdom. The "abbe" also divulges the profound secret of a hidden treasure. Dantes realizes that with such immense wealth, one could wreak a hateful vengeance on one's enemies.

The greatest story I have ever heard!
Revisado: 09-13-18
I bought this book from some Krishna devotees over 20 years ago but never read it. Boy do I regret it now. Simply amazing. It started good and only got better as it continued. So glad I found this audio book.
