Would be better with different narrator

the story itself was good enough. But the narrator didn't even try to do different voices, except for the grandparents, which both sound the same. it is disconcerting to hear the men's voices sound like a young girl.
I would have continued the series, but not with the same narrator.

Wouldn't title it a comedy

With 'Romantic Comedy' in the headline I expect some LOL moments in the book. While the book was romantic I would not have classified it as Comedy. There were some lighthearted moments and some witty banter between the friends, but nothing that made me chuckle. Other than that is was well written, and the narration was good, and the story itself was a different from the run of the mill so Overall it was good.

big chunks of storyline missing

while the story is enjoyable there are gaps in the storyline that are both confusing and annoying. spoilers follow.
several times throughout, the story skips and you're left wondering if you missed a chapter. for example, apparently the main character has a fight with her husband and brother-in-law and best friend but we don't get the details of it, she then gets kidnapped by her brother but we don't get the details of that, she gets away from the kidnappers but we don't get the details of that or find out what happened to her brother, fairy dragons are introduced and then completely ignored for the rest of the story. and that is just the last third of the book, it happens throughout and also in the first book I'm not sure if I can read the third if it will be the same.

I found this book incredibly boring and full of plot holes. I'm not sure why other reviewers said it was humorous. It was milk toast in both romance and story line.

does every book in this series have a tragic past tale? the horrible things that happen to these women are difficult to get through. I really wish Quinn could find an artifact that has a happy ending every once in a while to just shake things up.
the books are very well written though, so I will finish the series. the narration could be better, but I've heard worse.

i struggled to finish listening. I don't understand why the publisher continued with this narrator through the whole series. I will have to read the remaining as I cannot listen to this reader again.

While I find this book well written and enjoyable, it always bugs me when details from a series get changed.
possible spoiler below

in the first book they made a point of saying no jewelry was missing so it couldn't have been a robbery, and in this book jewelry was missing and it was commented on several times that it could have been a robbery.
there we're also details of the murder that were different from the first book. I'll just have to forget each book before reading the next in the series otherwise I get so annoyed while reading that it is distracting.

I had to skip chapters to finish as the story was too drawn out. also I wish summaries would state that the story is a Christian romance. However, this story wasn't really a romance, more of a mystery. Narrator was very good though.

inner dialogue abounds

I'm trying to finish this book, if it weren't for the narrator I would have already given up. the majority of the book is repetitive inner dialogue. the plot could be good if the story would get on with it. if you like books with 80 to 90% angst filled self talk then you will love this book.
