Action-packed and fun, but a little too much for me at times

Great story, questionable narration accents

I enjoyed the intrigue and mystery in this story. However, the narrator left much to be desired with her accents. I did not particularly like the haughty accent given to Emily or the different accents given to the sailors and foreigners. It sometimes pulled me out of the story rather than enhancing the characterization.

Loved this clean regency romance

Sally Britton is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her stories completely entrance and transport me. Although I love the story, I was a little disappointed in the change in narrator. I had become used to how each character was portrayed and sometimes had to rewind to determine which character was speaking at times.

Through the book I kept on getting confused as if I missed a segment with the disjointed writing style. It frequently jumped from one thing to another with minimal cues. The narrator often reminded me of Piglet from Winnie the Pooh which is definitely not a sweet feminine type of voice I expect in a romance novel.
