Historia
Greg Donahue’s The Minuteman, tells the story of one of Newark’s native sons; ex-prizefighter and longtime Zwillman enforcer Sidney Abramowitz, a.k.a. Nat Arno, who took over leadership of the Minutemen in 1934 and made it his personal business to put an end to what he saw as the Bund’s “anti-American” activities. For six years, Arno and his crew of vigilantes battled Newark’s Nazis at every turn. The Minuteman is a story of the ethics of violence in the face of fascism; a forgotten legacy that is as relevant now as it was nearly a hundred years ago.

Timely Story Applicable Today
Revisado: 12-28-20
Terrific history lesson about radicalism in US and a group of Americans who fought against it. Though the story focuses on a Jewish identity boxer leading a "violent" battle against racism and hatred, a norm in our history, the story does highlight how radical ideals often get clothed in American values.
Narration is outstanding as is the narratve!
Well worth the time!

Historia
Twenty years ago Martin Limón published his first mystery featuring Sergeant George Sueño, a young Mexican American army detective stationed on the US Eighth Army base in South Korea in the early 1970s, the heart of the Cold War. George and his investigating partner, the rowdy and short-fused Sergeant Ernie Bascom, are assigned cases in which the Eighth Army has come into conflict with local Korean law enforcement - often incidents in which American soldiers, who are not known for being on their best behavior in their Asian host country, have committed a crime.

Limon's a Master
Revisado: 05-24-20
I served twice in Korea with the US Army. These stories reflect the conditions of the era. Limon captured the tone, attitudes, and issues of the day. And his two characters make this a fun read, even for officers who serve as a focal point for brunt criticism and ridicule by enlisted soldiers.
Read this book. You won't regret it and you'll be surprised how much you'll learn about Korea at this time in its history.
History and culture aside, Limon's descriptions, characterizations, and plots are pure excellence in craft. Terrific read or listen. I heard this on Audible as I did my workouts. I extended workouts to hear the end of a story. Double benefit - great story, more cardio!

Riley Kennedy’s emails keep getting crossed with her male colleague, Kennedy Riley. The infuriating man forwards them along with his annoying commentary and unsolicited advice. At least she never has to see him in person, since they work in different locations…until they come face to face at the office holiday party.

A Joyful Romance!!!
Revisado: 01-21-20
I happened on this Audible book and decided to listen to it while doing gym workouts. I'm not a Romance reader, thrillers, mysteries, and history being my preferred genres/reads. This book by Penelope and Vi was terrific. The story line isn't new it seems, but the way their two characters come alive and the things they do made it a real joy. the narration is fantastic which made the story memorable and didn't want to stop. In fact, did extra laps just to get to the end of the chapters.
Highly recommend this to anyone. men included. who want a feel story with a meaningful message! Nicely done to all. d,

Historia
It looks like just another gray March morning in the tough urban district nicknamed Nowhere when seven lives converge. Any one of them could have a dark motive. Any one of them could be walking into a trap. When the fog lifts, it will all be much clearer - that a single, shattering act of violence has marked each of them forever.

Terrific Short Story
Revisado: 09-28-19
Deaver has done it again. Amazing short story with great characterizations. The twists are phenomenal, as is his reputation. Finishing it, I found it uplifting, full of hope, and would to read more of these characters. Thanks Jeffery for making my day and week!!! And JD Jackson is a fantastic narrator!

Award Winning Novel!!!
Revisado: 09-25-19
If you only read one thriller this year or next, make it The Chain! My wife and I enjoyed it on a long road trip. Time flew by.
McKinty has crafted a story so engaging that you wanted to know what happened, but at the same time you didn't want it to end. The premise is scary, the characters engaging and flawed, twists and turns abound!
The narrator was fantastic, outstanding!
Read or listen to the book. When I told my sister about it one night, I got a text the next afternoon saying "OMG!"
