Historia
This intimate memoir reveals the woman inside one of autism’s most prominent figures, Jennifer O'Toole. At the age of 35, Jennifer was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, and for the first time in her life, things made sense. Now, she exposes the constant struggle between carefully crafted persona and authentic existence, editing the autism script with wit, candor, passion, and power. Her journey is one of reverse-self-discovery not only as an Aspie but - more importantly - as a thoroughly modern woman.

Read My Mind
Revisado: 09-16-22
From start to finish, I LOVED this book! Jenny had me hooked with her witty rejoinders and her account of a female experience on the spectrum. I lost count of the number of times I'm nodding my head thinking, 'Yes, that is so me!' So nice hear stories like hers to know I'm not alone. Her story was relatable, warm, funny, and even the sad parts just added more depth. Would read again and would definitely recommend!

Historia
When Najwa Bakri walks into her first Scrabble competition since her best friend’s death, it’s with the intention to heal and move on with her life. Perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to choose the very same competition where said best friend, Trina Low, died. It seems that even though Najwa is trying to change, she’s not ready to give up Trina just yet. But the same can’t be said for all the other competitors. With Trina, the Scrabble Queen herself, gone, the throne is empty, and her friends are eager to be the next reigning champion.

Slow to start
Revisado: 02-04-20
I listened to this in my car. The first couple chapters were rather dry and it wasn't until about halfway through that I started to enjoy the story. There were several terms that weren't explained until later in the story, which for the longest time left you wondering what the heck they were talking about. Perhaps this was a trick by the author to keep you reading. if so, it worked. lol I also thought the incorporation of the cats into the story was interesting and certainly not what I was expecting.

I really appreciate an Insider's look as to how trees grow and exist and coexist within their ecosystem. While, the middle got a little dry, the beginning was quite fascinating. would definitely recommend

Interesting...
Revisado: 12-23-19
I enjoyed the book overall, but I cannot say that I would go out of my way to read it again. While there were some interesting historical facts and some really neat JK Rowling/ Harry Potter trivia, the overall sound volume was inconsistent. The voice of the curator Julian, was so quiet that have the time I had to strain to hear. then there's the voice of who I will refer to as Ms. Giggles, my fellow readers will know exactly who I'm talking about. Her constant giggling throughout just about every statement she made almost made me quit the book.

Historia
Can a young war correspondent find herself and follow her heart? In this work of historical fiction, 20-something Annabella “Annie” March arrives in France in 1944 intending to write about the war. Soon, however, Annie begins to distance herself from her sometimes-mentor, sometimes-rival - the great Martha Gellhorn - and Gellhorn’s larger-than-life husband, the novelist Ernest Hemingway. She turns to photography in the hopes of making her own name and, to her delight, discovers that images come more easily than words.

Didn't even finish
Revisado: 12-14-19
The sound quality of the narration was just okay. The narrator herself was all right but did not have good annunciation. That combined with the sound quality made for a subpar listen.
The storyline how to sort of lackluster quality. The random insertion of the f word did nothing to improve it's quality. I found the constant switching back and forth between Martha and Annie to be confusing and could not find any depth in the story.

In this charming and sweet solo performance, Wally investigates what is causing a number of strange events and occurrences. He explores and gets lost within space-time - an infinite, indefinable, and mysterious void that you can’t see but when you slice into it you can feel it.

if only it weren't for the F-bomb...
Revisado: 09-05-19
I actually enjoyed the story and I thought it to be very unique. My only problem with it was 1/4 of the way in, the hero of the story start dropping f-bombs like Nobody's Business. kind of ruined the rest of the story for me and would definitely not read again.
