Historia
Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship - the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

Also, it is amazingly hilarious hearing Lin Manuel-Miranda say, "I sure as hell don't want to study Alexander Hamilton."

The only complaint I have is sometimes it was hard for me to tell if it was Monty or Percy talking.

Historia
Comedy, Tragedy, Therapy. Simon Amstell did his first stand-up gig at the age of 13. His parents had just divorced, and puberty was confusing. Trying to be funny solved everything. Read by Simon Amstell, and interspersed with footage from his stand-up tours, HELP is the hilarious and heartbreaking account of Simon's ongoing compulsion to reveal his entire self onstage. To tell the truth so it can't hurt him anymore. Loneliness, anxiety, depression - this book has it all. And more.

Historia
Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who's ever been chosen. That's what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he's probably right. Half the time, Simon can't even make his wand work, and the other half, he starts something on fire. His mentor's avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there's a magic-eating monster running around, wearing Simon's face.

One of my favorite books of all time
Revisado: 12-29-16
I own it here, digitally, and a signed hard back and I'm still early awaiting the release of the paper back in a few months. I've lost count of how many times I've red/listened. That's how much I love it. I always have it with me in one form or another.
It has everything you could want in a book and at the same time doesn't really feel clichéd. It also takes a good critical look at the world of HP while still being perfectly it's own thing. The universe is well established with an interesting new way of doing/being magic.
Finally I'll say that the performance is superb.

A kind of prequel to Alice in Wonderland??
Revisado: 12-20-16
I enjoyed the book overall though it was not quite what I was expecting. I really like Marissa Meyer's writing and Rebecca Soler's delivery. I just wish (maybe spoiler?) I had know it doesn't exactly have a happy ending. Which is in no way a bad thing! Just wish I had known going in as I picked it because I was looking for something fun and light.

This book was so promising.
Revisado: 05-28-16
This book held so much promise and was pretty enthralling for the first 2/3. Then it all spun out of control. The "twist" was absurd and ruined everything. It ended up being a chore to finish. I don't mind paranormal books but only when the author sows the seeds for it along the way and is upfront about what type of book it is. It felt like this author just decided to switch genres with only a third of the book left and without any paying any mind to the story they had formed thus far. It ended up being such a jarring change of pace that looking back it really feels like two different authors.
