Historia
For Mark Solms, one of the boldest thinkers in contemporary neuroscience, discovering how consciousness comes about has been a lifetime's quest. Scientists consider it the "hard problem" because it seems an impossible task to understand why we feel a subjective sense of self and how it arises in the brain. Venturing into the elementary physics of life, Solms has now arrived at an astonishing answer. In The Hidden Spring, he brings forward his discovery in accessible language and graspable analogies.

Confusing
Revisado: 12-22-22
I couldn't follow the points of the author wanted to make. I was under the impression that he wants to explain or talk a bout how the conscious mind emerges in the brain , or differentiated with mind, but it seems like he talk a bout history of physiology and psychology.

Revisado: 09-19-22
I am a deep thinker and I studied and read as many as 250 books about evolution because it help me to have a better understanding of my environment and also interpret more effectively bout human behavior. the first hour of this book began to explain the mechanic of evolution which was on point and tremendous but after that, the subject become drab and monotonous for hours. there are a few great and relevant points in another chapter but overall I expected more relevant information and input. have I said all, this book has one of the most logical and practical conclusions that gravitate me to enlightenment.

Despicable, arrogant
Revisado: 07-11-21
The writer who has emphasized her own words MANICALLY study about trauma and ptsd lost her sense of sympathy in process . Its disgusting and abhorrent when she talk a bout calamity and abusive children with a little smirk with nonchalant way to describe the depth of abusive experience.
She suggested that no matter what kind of trauma , exploration , injustice or misconduct people experience because of brain plasticity able to reshape their behavior latter on . That cannot be anything farther that truth . Wasting time , money even considering this book.

Historia
According to R. Douglas Fields, PhD, we all have a rage circuit we can't fully control once it is engaged. The daily headlines are filled with examples of otherwise rational people with no history of violence or mental illness suddenly snapping in a domestic dispute, barroom brawl, or road rage attack. We all wish to believe that we are in control of our actions, but the fact is, in certain circumstances we are not. Something in our environment can unexpectedly unleash an automatic and complex rage response.

Great information but narcissistic author.
Revisado: 06-10-20
It would have been five stars book if author stop talking more than once or twice a bout the story a bout himself and his daughter .Douglas fields himself probably didn’t realized how unconsciously is insecure and how he
Desperately needed to portrayed himself as a gladiator and street smart who know how to fist fight and kick ass group of pickpocket .he mentioned this story over five or six times during the book. It’s sickening .

Historia
Join the conversation as a father and son talk about pursuing beauty, dealing with money, getting married, chasing dreams, knowing something real with God, and how to find a life you can call your own. Killing Lions is more than fatherly advice. It is an invitation into a journey: either to be the son who receives fathering or the father who learns what must be spoken. Most important, these conversations speak to a searching generation: "You are not alone. Its not all up to you. You are going to find your way."

Outrageous to human intelligent
Revisado: 08-26-18
This book is a childish story and fantasy bout courage and persistency of human characteristics. It’s mind boggling and humiliation to intelligent of human mind in 2018 how some people like the Arthur of this book claim that they know and understand God’s mind ,how to speak to god ,how they interpret every human stupidity to the god will . If you are religious person that’s book for u ,but if you are realistic and academically trained you can not stand of this absurd and profanity language.every two minutes they refer to God will ,faint of Jesus and religion.it made me nauseated.

Magnificent read
Revisado: 08-21-18
This book is life changing . I had experienced the same drama in my own life . I always looking for the words to explain and express my feeling and truth a bout transformation from dogma and obscurantism to enlightenment ,but I wasn’t till I red this remarkable book . I was stunned to see hunger, needs and the urge of human species for love and approval of parents even after the atrocities , abuse and barbaric behaviour towards them.
