Love Cedric the Entertainer but…

I love Cedric the Entertainer but I can’t continue listening. I feel like he’s reading a book, not narrating the story. As other reviewers noted: the story is probably better than I am hearing. However, I am not liking him as a narrator. I can’t get into the emotion I believe he’s wanting to convey. Maybe, another day, another story, another narrator. Keep writing Cedric.

I enjoyed the story of the two teens. I was looking for something lighter than my usual fare of mysteries and thrillers. The short story had issues that had some depth to them without too much drama. I personally liked it.

My kind of story

My kind of story. I love a good suspense, mystery, thriller...all that. I was really thrilled that people of color, in particular a woman, were the heroes. I've even pre-ordered the next book in the series. For me the writing was great, loved the narrator who did justice to each accent of the protagonist, and of course the story.

I tried. I tried. The story simply did not grab my attention. I only listened for about 5 chapter, I think!! Maybe the story gets better but I'll never know because it was totally boring for me.

The story itself was okay. What or rather WHO irritated me was the wife as she repeated over and over that she was jealous of a dead woman she'd never met, one who was gone by the time she met her husband! Irritating! I wanted her to get over it. Otherwise, the story was okay. I listened to the end just to see the who done it or what really happened.
