Good quotes but a brutal listen

Anything on Mark Lanegan gets my attention, so I’m glad that Greg wrote this book of quotes from several people that were close to him or worked with him. However, Greg’s reading voice is extremely painful to listen to. The whiny repetitive cadence and moody ending to each sentence sounds like talking to a child who’s complaining about doing homework or chores. Buy the actual book instead, you’ll thank me later.

First, R.I.P. to Colin Flaherty. Colin was the only reporter to have the balls to take on and expose Black on White violent crime in America at astronomical numbers. This book, not Ibrahm Kendi, should be required reading from elementary schools to college.

Almost everything he talks about in this book has come true. Orwellian for sure, a real wake-up call.

Heartbreaking, hilarious, and one hell of a ride.

With one of the most beautiful and haunting vocalists of my generation, Mark Lanegan holds nothing back from his early days in the Screaming Trees, to his fantastic solo albums, to his close friendships with Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley and many others in the Seattle explosion of the early 90’s. Mark takes you from the gutter of his drug addictions, alcoholism, sex addiction, a hellish episode in Amsterdam being robbed for dope, to fights with band mates, his road crew, his own mother, Oasis frontman, and even the audience at times. He made it through Hell, and I’m just glad he’s still around.
