exhaustingly slow moving. after the 25th chapter I couldn't take it anymore. The worthless detail was caused 25 chapters to cover a 4 hour time frame. worthless detail such as "I moved the mint from one side of my mouth to the other & took a sip of water"...seriously? and "I set my phone on the table & plugged it into the charger" obviously a critical piece of information. finally I couldn't take it anymore

What made the experience of listening to The Wright Brothers the most enjoyable?

I'm a history buff as well as a fan of the flying industry. But, this history lesson was presented as story that just kept me wanting to come back to it more.

What other book might you compare The Wright Brothers to and why?

I think "Killing Lincoln" simply because of the history which I love to learn about.

What does David McCullough bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Not sure really. As I didn't read the book but, I'd say that there was "just" the right amount of detail to keep the story moving along and kept on track and not bouncing all over the timeline

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Fly before you can FLY

What would have made Mr. Mercedes better?

A real plot.. that was easier to follow. I honestly couldn't even finish it. I'm not the type that feels "obligated" to finish a book once I start but, in most cases, I'll give it at least 1/3 of the way through. It was just exhausting to try and listen to this.. I'm sure I wouldn't have made it even this far if I were reading the book. I don't understand this as I'm a big Stephen King fan... maybe he was sick that day.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Right now, I'm listening to "Killing Reagan"

Did Will Patton do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I honestly don't know... I just couldn't get interested in it at all.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Well, definitely disappointment.. as it did NOTHING to spark any interest whatsoever.

Any additional comments?

I know I only bought it with a credit but, just for the principle of it, I'd really like to return it.

What would have made Mindwise better?

To have some type of overall vision or concept of what the main goal of book is. The content is REALLY out there. I apply this type of concept every day but saw nothing really revealing and, in some areas, felt the points being made were completely subjective and not based on much experience

What was most disappointing about Nicholas Epley’s story?

The constant rattling off of statistics with no real basis or conclusions that were helpful

What aspect of Nicholas Epley’s performance would you have changed?

It was fairly bland..... it didn't help the statistics become any more interesting... Obviously written from the VERY annalytical perspective with zero consideration for versitility to add any different views for non-analytical readers.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

To be honest, it never grabbed me at all and I just stopped about 1/4 of the way through.. I tried to give it a chance but just didn't see anything relevent to the title.

Any additional comments?

The publisher's summary definitely should be a bit more "real" in terms of the discription, which actually got me to buy it. If there was a way to return this one, I definitely would.

Would you consider the audio edition of Impossible Odds to be better than the print version?

Never read the print version

What was one of the most memorable moments of Impossible Odds?

The kidnapping

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My extreme reaction was dramatic increase in respect and admiration for the U.S. Special Forces

Any additional comments?

It made me think that, although the U.S. has the highest level of special services, Navy Seal program and intelligence system in the world, I never really understood the situations they are put in and able to perform.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I already have because dog lovers can really appreciate the personality and life long commitment of man's best friend

Who was your favorite character and why?

Toby, Max, Molly; all the same dog.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

He did a good job with most of the character voices; some voices got a bit odd but overall, it was so easy to listen to.

Who was the most memorable character of A Dog's Journey and why?

Toby at the end

Any additional comments?

The performance and story really felt like seeing things from a dog's point of view. Great read

What disappointed you about Life on the Other Side?

It was just TOO out there; it got to the fictional point that I just couldn't relate to it anymore and it just got so boring after I tried and tried to give it a chance.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sylvia Browne and Lindsey Harrison again?

Very doubtful

What aspect of Sylvia Browne’s performance would you have changed?

Perhaps gotten her to stop smoking cigarettes LONG ago. The voice was just so raspy

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not at all

Any additional comments?

If you want a fictional ride that is so far out there, that it becomes meaningless and doesn't relate to anything.. this is the one for you. I returned it.
