let down
Revisado: 04-15-25
By the synopsis I thought I was getting a different book than what I got. Positives - I liked the narrator, the character development and the beginning. Negatives - the "big twist" of what was happening (middle of the book reveal) it was wholly unbelievable and then the "BIGGER twist" at the end was so outlandish it turned my stomach and really put me off of this book. I don't recommend. If you are looking for a thriller/suspense book, skip this one, but if you are looking for action/adventure/fantasy then this is the book for you.

If I could give 100 Stars, I would! Perfectly written, well developed characters and just the right pacing to reveal the whole story. I loved the past and present timelines to uncover clues. I'm hoping this is the first book in a Sloan Hastings series!

female lead that is both broken and strong
Revisado: 09-17-24
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Brilliantly written and the narrator was fantastic. Broken flawed main character who is dealing with her own trauma while trying to save crime victims. Her abusive childhood in a cult and her psychic visions guide her through cold cases. Her newly formed partnership has endless potential, cannot wait to read book# 2 in this series.

Time Travel done right!
Revisado: 06-20-24
All these books are exceptionally heart touching and reaches deep into my soul. Michael was my least favorite character and I seriously thought about not reading the second book in this series bc he was a serial killer after all, but the first book was so incredibly well written, world building and character driven that I couldn't let myself miss out on something that had so much potential. And boy am I glad I "forced" myself to read Michael's story of redemption. He won my heart and introduced me to Max, a completely selfless unconditional loving human. I do have to pace myself on reading the next book in the series as I will cry with every single book bc the characters always touch my heart, either in a good way or a sad way. But all in all, they are beautifully written and I enjoy every minute of each book.

politics / religion / abortion
Revisado: 06-18-24
Beware of the following topics in this book (NONE OF WHICH ARE MENTIONED in the synopsis) politics / religion / abortion. I would not have gotten this book if I would have know. I had to stop listening, these topics took over the whole story and the interesting parts about Rath's family and past got lost. Very disappointing.
**Please note that I am non-political and do not like having authors (from either side of the aisle) jam their views down the reader's throat.

Historia
Martha Ratliff conceded long ago that she’d likely spend her life alone. She was fine with it, happy with her solo existence, stimulated by her work as a librarian in Maine. But then she met Alan, a charming and sweet-natured salesman whose job took him on the road for half the year. When he asked her to marry him, she said yes, even though he still felt a little bit like a stranger.

Love love LOVE this book!!
Revisado: 06-13-24
It was nice catching up with an "old friend" Lily! She is a brilliantly written complex character who is stand-offish but relatable. This book is good to read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading the the first two Henry Kimball/Lily Kintner books. Peter Swanson always knocks it out of the park for me!

Historia
Meghan, Brecia, and Skye have just one thing in common. They were all murdered by the same man. He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman, a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves. He’s gotten away with murder three times now. The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered. Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. And they won’t rest until they find a way to stop him. The haunt is on.

This book is told through the perspective of his 3 dead victims, after death. Very interesting journey on how they each come to terms with their own death, "life" after death and how they try to save his next victims and family.
