Within two months of dating, she discovered la Petite was still on Tinder, and while he was great in theory, she also noticed that mysteriously she got locked out of a credit card account. Can you guess who the culprit was? This may have been a foreshadowing of what was to come. Special guests: Strangers on the Internet Legal scholar Irina Manta and psychologist Michelle Lange bring you the latest on how to swipe ...

Still the best podcast
Revisado: 01-05-25
The subject said "right" a lot and that was distracting, but Amber said someone criticized her for the prison boyfriend shank thing. I personally, never laughed so hard in my life. I had tears running down my face. I think you guys are funny and make it feel like girlfriends just sitting around talking. Love this podcast.

Historia
In this jaw-dropping first season, hosts Amber Rasmussen and Athena Klingerman share the story of abuse by their mutual ex-husband. Ben wasn't your everyday, run-of-the-mill POS but a conniving and manipulative con man who shocked even his most loyal followers. But that's how a psychopath works, right? They make the victim out to be the crazy one. It turns out that his worst nightmare came true when two women [his ex-wives] whom he pitted against one another for years came together and brought to light his lies, scams, seedy tactics and so much more. In fact...by doing this podcast, they even ...

BEST PODCAST OF THE YEAR
Revisado: 12-30-24
I started this 2 days ago with a plan to listen to 2 per night. I've now been binging it for 2 days, only taking breaks for sleep and to eat. I'm even listening while driving.
Not only is the story unbelievably fascinating, the women are great and engaging. I find myself yelling at the phone at certain parts like I'm in the room with them. I can't recommend this enough. You'll be hooked after the first episode.

Fascinating but confusing
Revisado: 12-09-24
Fascinating subject & the narration is good, but the story jumps around a lot. Events aren't told in chronological order so it gets pretty confusing. There are also a ton of commercials, seems like more than usual, & the story will stop very suddenly as a commercial starts. In some places, the music is so loud I couldn't hear what the speaker was saying. But if you can get past all of this, the story is really good.

Historia
We all witnessed some of the most shocking and confounding political events of our lifetime: the careening last stage of Donald J. Trump’s reelection campaign, the president’s audacious election challenge, the harrowing mayhem of January 6, the buffoonery of the second impeachment trial. But what was really going on in the inner sanctum of the White House during these calamitous events? What did the president and his dwindling cadre of loyalists actually believe? And what were they planning?

Excellent with inaccuracies
Revisado: 09-12-24
He keeps referring to the J6 hearings as constructed & tried by "the democrats". This isn't completely true. Liz Cheney (R) actually started and ran these hearings & Adam Kinzinger (R) also had a large part. I think other, less known, R's were involved too.
Also omitted were the speeches (call to arms) given by Rudy & Eastman right before the riot. They were calling for martial law & "trial by combat". I don't understand why, when detailing the factors involved, this important piece was left out.

In this “rich, complex family saga” (USA Today) full of long-buried family secrets, Marilyn Connolly and David Sorenson fall in love in the 1970s, blithely ignorant of all that awaits them. By 2016, they have four radically different daughters, each in a state of unrest.

Do not recommend
Revisado: 07-27-24
Unless you love a lifetime movies, I don't recommend this book. The sex scenes are cringey & reading is too fluffy & happy, even during serious scenes. I found it hard to finish but I bought it because it purported to be like Franzen. This book is NOTHING like Franzen.

Historia
An explosive, heartbreaking memoir from the widow of Mark Madoff and daughter-in-law of Bernard Madoff, the first genuine inside story from a family member who has lived through - and survived - both the public crisis and her own deeply personal tragedy. In this candid insider account, she talks about her idyllic wedding to Mark, what it was really like to be a part of the Madoff family, the build-up to Bernard's confession, and the media frenzy that followed. It is about the loss of the fairytale life she knew and the tragic and final loss of her husband.

This is a good book if you can get past the monotone valley girl narration. I had to slow the speed just to make it bearable. Well written & good story though.

The breathy dramatic voice was annoying but it's OK. Not her best book. Love the accurate political themes.
