Historia
It's 1932, and Sullivan Harris is on the run. He promised the people of Kline, West Virginia, that he would find them water, but now he's failed and disappeared with their cash. Although he's determined to stay a step ahead of pursuers - like Jeremiah Weber - his resources are running low. Gainey Floyd is suspicious of Sulley's claim to be a dowser when he appears in town but reconsiders after he finds water. Rather, it's Sulley who grows uneasy when his success makes folks wonder if he can find more than water - like forgotten items or missing people.

So glad I found this author. A bit boring in the beginning but after a rough start I truly enjoyed everything about it. Nice wholesome story. Thank you Ms Thomas for a wonderful listen. XOX

Not her usual engaging story
Revisado: 11-09-24
I found this book totally predictable almost from the get go. I love her novels until this one. I found it boring, a real struggle to finish. On another note, I wish Ms Alexander would redo the Belmont Mansion series with a new narrator. Ms Stevens voice is way too old and slow for the main character, I just couldn’t listen and know I’m missing out on a real good listen.

Be prepared
Revisado: 05-08-21
Be prepared for an utterly depressing experience. Dark and dismal at EVERY turn. I for one enjoy an uplifting read. This just left me sad.. Not looking for a dose of reality. If that were the case then why read at all.

Charles Martin just keeps getting better and better. Love getting lost in his stories. This one is loaded with twists. Didn’t want it to end.

Not sure what the rave reviews are about.
Revisado: 12-07-18
I found my mind drifting while listening. Hitting fast forward numerous times. The Indian characters and their names like “crosses the path” “wolf alone” panther...somthing, very uninteresting and a bit confusing to keep track of. Guess my mind was wandering a bit too much. Came away with nothing. However, Kate Forbes did, as usual, an amazing job with the narration. Only thing that got me through the book.

Historia
A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

Winner!
Revisado: 05-07-18
Another winner by Ms Rivers. Sad to say my listening choices of late have been disappointing. Not so with this winner. Interesting characters, good story line, good ending. Okay, a bit predictable but nice ending (which is what a good book should have) just the same. My thanks to the author and narrator for a pleasant read!

Not for me.
Revisado: 05-06-18
After four chapters it was returned. Was hoping for another “Nightingale”, what I got was a tour guide of backwoods Alaska.
The story seemed to take a backseat to all the description. Kate Forbes is one of my favorite narrators, but even she couldn’t get this one to come to life.
