Historia
Whether it's a manager who keeps moving the goal posts, an uncooperative colleague, negative friend, or critical family member, some people are just plain hard to get along with. Often, your immediate response is to shrink or sulk, become defensive or attack. But there are smarter moves to make when dealing with difficult people. This book explains how to cope with a range of situations with difficult people and to focus on what you can change.

Very Good Book
Revisado: 05-10-24
I plan a second listening as I’m not always an active listener. This book has many good tips for dealing with difficult people. Body language, listening actively, responding in the i narrative instead of the you are some examples. I would have liked to have had an expanded chapter on impossible people. I work with one who doesn’t confront most of the time, but constantly looks for faults and perceived mistakes and runs to the big boss to bitch and moan about everything under the sun. I really don’t know the complete number of people who have quit because of this indirect bullying. The sad part is the big boss goes along totally. I would have liked more input on dealing with drama queens who put every soap opera to shame. Little problems most people resolve with little thought become huge deals. I plan a second listen while dog walking. Right now the only resolution to my current situation is to walk away. Tolerating toxic and impossible people is why employers in the industry can’t recruit or retain. You can’t please an impossible person. Listen or read this book. It’s useful.

Anxiety
Revisado: 07-18-19
This audio book can help with basic anxiety. It was worth the purchase. I may listen to parts again when anxiety attempts to hold me back.

Historia
Jumping at Shadows is Sasha Abramsky's searing account of America's most dangerous epidemic: irrational fear. Taking listeners on a dramatic journey through a divided nation, where everything from immigration to disease, gun control to health care has become fodder for fearmongers and conspiracists, he delivers an eye-popping analysis of our misconceptions about risk and threats. What emerges is a shocking portrait of a political and cultural landscape that is, increasingly, defined by our worst fears and rampant anxieties.

Recognizing Our Fears and Anxieties
Revisado: 10-01-17
I listened to the audio version and this book states well how we let irrational fears get the best of us. If we are aware of our crazy fears we can then do something about them.
This book discusses fears and mentions several times the past election including Donald Trump. It is NOT a book written about our current president so take the one and two star reviews stating it is with a bucket of salt.

Beautiful and Moving Life Story
Revisado: 03-24-17
I truly enjoyed the audio version of this story. I hope many doctors take the time to read or listen. Everyone can learn to at least enjoy the moment and be grateful to have the time to hear Paul's story. There are many life lessons in this book and you can choose which one applies to your story.

Classic Good Read
Revisado: 03-22-17
I bought as an audio book. This is a classic book on how to deal with difficult people and putting yourself above negative communications . Anyone can learn from this book. It should be a required read/listen for politicians in Washington.
