She is amazing in any time period!
Revisado: 04-15-25
The Mrs Pollifax books were written some time ago but they are still excellent. The reader captures all the voices and all the nuances so well. The story is interesting and imaginative and yet you believe every word of it. An elderly lady becoming a CIA Courier is not something that happens every day. Read it and find out! Maybe old age and cunning does overcome Youth and skill.

Historia
When a film shoot on Wharfedale’s vintage railway turns into a grisly crime scene, DCI Oldroyd’s idyllic visit to the countryside with his partner Deborah is well and truly stopped in its tracks. One of the film’s stars has been shot dead in a train carriage while the cameras rolled outside. But nobody else went in—or came out. Has the killer really pulled off the perfect, impossible crime?

Always well done!
Revisado: 12-22-22
I love this series. Oldroyd, Steph, and Andy are such a wonderful group and do such lovely things. I am glad that he also now has Deborah as a love interest and partner. She does find herself in danger in this one and they have to work exceptionally hard to find her and solve the original two murders. The train setting in this is delightful and all of this makes me want to go to Yorkshire. Can't wait to read the next one!

Historia
New Mexico has more than its share of unique and well-publicized attributes, but the one they prefer to play down is the fact that they lead the United States in lightning deaths per capita. Thus, the Cottonwood Creek Country Club of Los Alamos, which is hosting the High Desert Women's Classic golf tournament, takes elaborate measures to ensure that the numbers don't go up during the high-profile tournament. Nevertheless, disaster strikes.

I really like the characters in this book. Lee is thoughtful and intelligent and Graham is awesome. They have some things to work through but they work well together. The narrator is a little thin on voice differentiation but I still really enjoyed the story and will listen to more of these.

Amos gets help
Revisado: 01-10-22
I really enjoy the Amos Decker books. In this one, he and Alex go to North Dakota, to fracking country, to solve the murder of a woman no one seems to be able to identify. The Side Stories here are fascinating, the characters intricate and the crossover from another series is excellent. I don't want to give any more away than that just know that it's very well done. if you haven't read the others in the series, you can still enjoy this but knowing the background of the characters does help. I did miss Melvin this book.

Always worthy!
Revisado: 10-17-21
George always does a great job of reading and defining the characters in the book. The spiritual aspects of this book are very interesting and you wonder continuously about Virgil in the wolf. Walt is such a deep and complex character and his relationship with Vic is entertaining to say the very least. He hasn't entirely recovered from his jaunt to Mexico either physically or mentally. it's hard to decide what to say about it without giving away important aspects of the book so I'll just say I love this series and can't wait to read the next one.

excellent story! Jumps back and forth in time to what happened before relative to what's happening now so you have to pay attention but this is another wonderful Longmire story. I won't give it away but only part of the story ends in this book. We are looking forward greatly to the next one!

Love Joanna Brady!
Revisado: 02-24-21
I'm thoroughly enjoying the Joanna Brady series. I read one farther down the line many years ago and I've rediscovered them recently. She is a terrific character, Jenny is adorable, Eleanor is aggravating, and the cast of Side characters gives one something to look forward to as Joanna sifts through them in her new job as Sheriff of Cochise County. if you enjoy a well-written book about a good character and a little mystery, try the Joanna Brady series. Joanna doesn't spend much time in the office in this particular book as she is off learning how to be a sheriff, But great characters here, too.

Killer book..literally
Revisado: 02-07-21
I thought at first it was going to be too slow, too introspective. But then Brandon called and Cat didn't believe him. Thus began the whirlwind. It was a very well-crafted story about a police detective being caught up in bad things happening on a dating site. Cat was hurt a long time ago and never really got over it, but she was a really good cop. Brandon's father had died some years ago but he and his mother were very close and suddenly he couldn't find her. Once this story started rolling, it was very hard to put down.

Another Georgie win!
Revisado: 01-23-21
I truly love the lady Georgiana books and this one was no exception. Belinda finds herself in trouble and Georgie is at her wit's end trying to figure out how to help. There is an introduction of a new character: Brutus. Brutus is a sports car! It's a well-done book and keeps with the spirit of the whole series. Blackborow is good and keeps the voices separate and interesting. She is a good replacement for Katherine Kellergen who will be missed.

Best reader ever!
Revisado: 12-23-20
I love this series! I have listened to these books multiple times and I never cease to be amazed by not only be writing but the reading. Holbrook Smith is beyond question the best reader I ever heard, with the possible exception of Jim Dale. The writing is excellent, well edited and descriptive. Peter Grant is an excellent character and grows stronger in his magic practice with each book. It is just so believable. If U haven't read them, start with the first one. You will never want to put them down.
