Great performance, poor story
Revisado: 02-02-25
The narration was great, as it was through the entire Riverworld series. This story was added after the original end of the series, it shows. While there are some things that are interesting it seems to only rehash the same old issues, of spiritual growth. If you love the Sir Richard Francis Burton character, you may love the story. Burton once again is main character with everything revolving around him.

Richard Blade’s autobiography is much more than a spotlight on any one decade. Instead, he gives you a jaw-dropping, uncensored insider’s look into the world of music, movies, and television and its biggest stars, starting in the '60s and continuing through to the new century. Richard takes you on a journey that few have experienced, from his early days as a student at Oxford to the wild, lascivious nights of being a disco DJ touring the clubs of Europe to coming to America and breaking through into the LA radio scene.

Richard Blade’s life is much more than just a DJ
Revisado: 03-19-22
I saw this book in a special and thought I would give it a try. I was not disappointed.
I knew Richard Blade from TV. I grew up in Bakersfield but didn’t realize he started his DJ career there. I wasn’t yet into music. I remember first seeing him on MV3, then later on KTLA and KROQ. Those parts were interesting but his dive training and relationships with rock stars is even more interesting.
If you love New Wave or just 80’s music this is a
must listen.

Both funny and serious in just the right places to make the series great. Like another listener I can’t wait for more episodes, they are perfect to listen to during my walks.

Historia
Woodward, the number-one international bestselling author of Fear: Trump in the White House, has uncovered the precise moment the president was warned that the Covid-19 epidemic would be the biggest national security threat to his presidency. In dramatic detail, Woodward takes readers into the Oval Office as Trump’s head pops up when he is told in January 2020 that the pandemic could reach the scale of the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 675,000 Americans.

Rage refers to both tRump and the reader.
Revisado: 09-19-20
I listened to Fear, two years ago, and became angry that our country was being led by tRump. After completing this book I’ve become enraged.
The rage comes from the lies by tRump and the leaders of this country knowing his deficiencies. Despite the problems no Republican will take a stand to help the country.
Woodward clearly exposes the problems and even gives tRump a chance to give his side.

Revisado: 09-16-19
I was aware of many of the high points of Stan Lee’s story but this really fills out the story giving the listener more details. The narration was very good I generally prefer a different type of audiobook narration but this works out very well.

A joy to hear.
Revisado: 10-02-18
I bought this with E.B. Sledge's With the Old Breed. I took the advice of others and listened to Leckie's book second. Leckie's use of words is masterful. Sledge's accounts were like a scientist, matter of fact. Leckie's descriptions were like an artist painting a picture.

In this incisive, personal account, David Brock disarms the major tentacles of the Republican Leviathan: the Koch Brothers, the Clinton haters, and the Fox noise machine. With the acumen of a seasoned political player, Brock takes listeners inside his Democratic war rooms and their 24/7 battles with right-wing forces for control of the story lines and messages that will decide the 2016 election. And he chronicles his own evolution from lead Clinton attack dog to one of Hillary Clinton's fiercest defenders as he knocks down the conservative case against her.

Historia
One of my dad’s favorite jokes about getting older was: “I went out for coffee when I was twenty-one and when I got back I was fifty-eight!” I get what he meant now. Time flies. My first book, If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a "B" Movie Actor, was published back in 2001 and it chronicles the adventures of a “mid-grade, kind of hammy actor" (my words), cutting his teeth on exploitation movies far removed from mainstream Hollywood. This next book, an “Act II” if you will, could be considered my “maturing years” in show business, when I began to say “no” more often and gravitated toward self-generated material. Taking stock in the overall quality of my life, I fled Los Angeles and moved to a remote part of Oregon to renew, regroup and reload. If that sounds tame, the journey from Evil Dead to Spider-Man to Burn Notice was long, with plenty of adventures/mishaps along the way. I never pictured myself hovering above Baghdad in a Blackhawk helicopter, facing a pack of wild dogs in Bulgaria, or playing an aging Elvis Presley with cancer on his penis - how can you predict this stuff? The sheer lunacy of show business is part of the fun for me and I hope you'll come along for the ride.
