Historia
After the latest mission of the starship Flying Dutchman, Earth is safe not just for a year, but for hundreds of years. The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

While I am a big fan of Expeditionary Force I really hated this. Eventhough Craig wrote it I found that I did not recognize many of the characters. Skippy and Joe were fine thanks to R.C. but Smythe and Adams, Nagatha etc were nearly unrecognizable. I understand that some adjustments need to be made because of the collaborative cast but I just could not get into it.

Historia
The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx.

Disappointing. Highly Predictable with 0 suprises
Revisado: 07-29-23
I am a big fan of The Expeditionary Force series and I love Tim Gerard Reynolds so I had high hopes for this series but found myself disappointed by the constant "Oops....It was a mis-understanding" story line excuses. The writing was also highly predictable and you could see where the story was going from a mile away. It is one thing to drop a subtle hint of an upcoming revelation but here Craig was flashing a neon sign in places. Tim G.R. did his usual excellent job with the narration but I am still deciding whether to give Book 2 a try.

Truly Awful
Revisado: 02-12-23
I hated this book. Why the author decided to try and turn well established characters like Mary Pat into a parody of the character that Tom Clancy developed is beyond me. I barely recognized John Clark because he was not the same character from that era.
It is clear that the author was a huge Criminal Minds fan based on the number of times I had to hear about the "Unsub". A first. and hopefully the last time for a Jack Ryan story.
Others seemed to enjoy this book so maybe I am just an outlier.

Historia
With the help of a command AI, the hole in the Daedalus has been fixed by Hazel and her friends. But in the process, they have antagonized the Yi, the aliens who are actually controlling the Daedalus. After a daring escape from the Yi, Hazel and her friends now must convince the people of the Daedalus villages and the village leaders that the Yi exist - and that they must fight back in order to survive. This proves tricky, as those in power don't want their authority challenged.

Not Peter's best work.
Revisado: 12-02-22
I have loved most of Peter's books, but unfortunately, this was not one of them. I found that the writing seemed to be focused on a perhaps younger and less sophisticated audience compared to his usual works. It was all I could do to finish it even at 1.5 apeed.
I will not be signing up to see how ends because I can't take anymore "Oh Sweet Captain" exclamations from the characters.
I will wait for Peter's next series.

I struggled to finish this book. I found the quality of the writing to be well below what I have come to expect from the Spellmonger series. It felt like it was written for a very young audience without the more sophisticated dialog and character development that l have come to expect.

Historia
The Iron Wolves are a company of legionnaires whose legendary exploits date back to the Savage Wars. When they are invited to be guests of honor at a ceremony on a small, backwater planet, they look forward to some precious time away from the constant conflicts of galaxy's edge. But when a neighboring country invades, disrupting the ceremony and killing innocents, the Wolves are forced to make an impossible decision. Aid a people pleading for their protection...or obey the cynical orders of their senate to stand down and see how the dust settles.

This Book is a Dumpster Fire
Revisado: 09-17-22
This book was a struggle to finish. The writing is so far below the quality that I have come to expect from the rest of the Galaxy's Edge that I wondered if Jason and Nick even looked at it. Considering that there is nothing in this book that ties it to the main G.E. thread you won't miss anything if you skip this one.
