Incredible Series

This series was such a huge surprise. My girls LOVE listening to it on road trips, and I fell in love with it too. This narrator is so brilliant! She does all the voices so well and they are so fun to listen to. This is an intelligent series with fabulous adventures and wonderful life lessons. Terrific!

I am a huge Sarah J. Maas fan, and these books are just as addictive so far! These characters get more and more complex with each twist in the plot, and I actually found myself staying up way too late trying to listen to more.
Amanda Leigh Cobb is a narrating genius. So many voices and accents, and I could always tell who was speaking. I also got choked up more than once.
Each character has such a terrific backstory and amazing challenges. It is so heartbreaking too. Such an incredible journey. Rielle and Jon and Brennan and and and . . . it just keeps getting better!! I can't wait for COURT OF SHADOWS.

I loved how these short stories changed narrators and introduced us to so many characters living in the town. So many different perspectives. The people felt real, and I liked that the drama was subtle, like life.

This story is made even more incredible by the fact that it is TRUE!!! Gorgeous writing. Flawless narration. The obstacles and ignorance this young woman overcomes in order to understand herself and the world are absolutely astounding. I immediately gifted this to all the women in my family. Highly recommend.

After seeing these reviews, I was really scared to listen to this. I loved the first 2 books SO MUCH! Jennifer Ikeda ruled. Why the switch!? I wish she had kept going, and I don't know why they chose someone new, but honestly? Once I got over being pissed off, it wasn't that bad! I mean, Amanda is no Jennifer, but I think she did her best. The characters were good. Lucien's brothers were fantastically evil. I just miss the overall tone of Jennifer as Feyre. I felt like I got to know her, and now it was like a completely different person.
And since this book is over 25 hours long, how were people writing reviews THE FIRST DAY IT CAME OUT!? I don't think half those people even gave the new narrator a chance. They couldn't have had the time to listen to it. So. I admit, it took a while for her to find her stride, I think, but once I got past my initial shock and dismay, and I started listening to the story itself? I was still interested, and I was still moved.
Chapter 44 - with all the high lords? And that scene with the cliff? Oh - and Lord Grayson scene with Elaine???? Come on. It was good. Admit it. Of course, you have to listen that far.
It probably sucks to step into such a popular series, so I say job well done -- even if I wish Jennifer was still doing it....

It is one of the best books I've listened to this year.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the shifting POVs and the fact that all of the characters remain sympathetic while being completely flawed human beings.

Julia. I liked that she was complicated and accomplished.

First one. I really thought her voice was soothing.

Whether Julia would go to Paris.... and the ending was moving.
