Historia
In the canton of Yarrowdale, at the very edge of the Empire’s reach, a Treasury officer has disappeared into thin air—vanishing from a room within a heavily guarded tower, its door and windows locked from the inside. To solve the case, the Empire calls on its most brilliant and mercurial detective, the great Ana Dolabra. At her side, as always, is her bemused assistant Dinios Kol. Ana soon discovers that they are investigating not a disappearance but a murder—and one of surpassing cunning, carried out by an opponent who can pass through warded doors like a ghost.

Just as good as the first one

Love this series. The narration is great! The story amazing. There's some things I wish the author would do slightly different for repetition sake but from what I understand that part does get better as the books go on. But overall this is a 5/5 for me.

When a fateful commission lands on her desk, she finds herself tasked with transcribing a book coveted by assassins from the southern continent. Its theft throws the scribing halls into chaos and threatens to destroy the fragile peace that exists between their nations.

An interesting book in a world that's lacking just a tad bit.
Revisado: 09-14-24
First of all, the performance was incredible. The Voice Actor did a fantastic job at portraying every character, and giving this world a breath of life. Second, the book itself is honestly pretty good. It's a fantastic debut novel and I am looking forward to reading the next installment in this world. The characters were interesting, though some were definitely written worse than others. The overall world is intriguing, but it's also the reason I cannot give this book a 5 star rating. I felt like I was reading a theater play a lot of the times, due to just how cramped the world felt. It wasn't until the very end, that I felt like the world opened up and made me curious about it. Which is unfortunate, because that meant that most of the book was mostly carried by the character work. I'd give this book a 3.8 out of 5. It's not quite a 4 for me. But I also feel like a 3.5 is a bit too low. Overall it's worth the read(listen), and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Brilliance.
Revisado: 12-26-23
This was an incredible read. It's not often that I find myself with tears running down my cheeks as I listen to a book. However this was just brilliant. It told a story about love, and hate, and finding one self. It had one of the best depictions of a death of a loved one I've ever read. It's just purely brilliant.

Incredible world, phenomenal story and characters
Revisado: 07-15-23
The book is very well written, researched and just overall captivating. The story is fun and gripping, while the characters are some of the best I've read. Also the narrator does an absolutely fantastic job bringing this world to life. I will be listening to more books from her for sure. And I hope the author expands this world into many more books.
