If he can break his targets out of prison, they'll have to level up, learn new skills, and hunt down the prophecy's clues. All while facing down berserkers and EMP-hurling tigers, in a jungle that offers no succor.

Uneven, difficult to connect with characters

I've listened to 100s of books. I'm a fan of pretty much anything fantasy, Sci-fi or mystery, including LitRPG. For the most part, I consider myself an easy audience. That said, this might be the first book/series I don't finish. I am struggling to listen. It is so poorly paced and uneven, I don't have the ability to embrace any portion of the story or characters. Many of the details of the story are either glazed over or go into too many details on meaningless subjects. The character development is so bad that I don't care who wins or dies. I find myself thinking, "I just want this to over." The narration is better than the storyline. But it's not enough to save it.
