Absolutely loved every minute!!!

Every year, on the first of September, I immediately reach for literally every version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow that I can get my hands on. It's one of my favorite stories. And I can honestly say that I genuinely believe Washington Irving would have been proud and honored at the truly wonderful job rhat Richard Gleaves did with his version of the story. I can't describe how excited this book made me. Mr. Graves, you've done absolutely superbly. And the narrator, Eric Michael Summerer, is absolute perfection. I can't imagine anyone else doing this work justice.

Every year, beginning September first, I celebrate Autumn early. One of the first things I do to celebrate my favorite season is to watch every version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow that I can get my hands on. A few years ago, I found the first book in this series, hoping I'd have something entertaining and spooky to listen to during my way to/from work. But it ended up being SO much more than that. I started listening to it at home while I baked ridiculous amounts of apple and pumpkin desserta, I listened to it while I cleaned, took my bath, when I was sad and need something to pull me from my misery..... And this second book was even better than the first! And the narrator has PERFECT timing in his performance. The funny stuff, the scary stuff, the anger, the hope.... he conveyed all of that perfectly. Please keep writing Mr. Gleaves. And Mrs. Summerer, please keep narrating. It's hard to please me when it comes to spooky stories, especially in regard to the Sleepy Hollow Legend. But this went beyond my expectations!

Such An Absolute Joy!

Yes, this could technically be an audiobook for a child. And yes, I was pretty sure I'd stop listening to it as soon as i started because I couldn't imagine being a fully grown adult that would get into something like this. Why'd I even click on it, anyway?! But this was hands down one of the best audibooks I've EVER listened to! In fact, as far as sounds, voice tone and inflections, music goes, this was tops! It really felt like you were there. Almost like you were sitting in front of your tv with a fantastic movie on but your eyes were closed. I'd been suffering from depression recently and I tell you what, this audiobook was so easy to get lost in that every time I cut it on, I immediately forgot my problems. Yes, it could be seen as a kid adventure, or something that takes you back to youthful nostalgia.

Worth the credit!

This is a plain and simple, yet really interesting audiobook. I wanted something spooky to listen to for the upcoming Fall season (Yay, Halloween!!!!) and this didn't disappoint. There's nothing spectacular or jaw-dropping about it, but it definitely served it's purpose. Loads of creepy stories, some of which had me a little wide-eyed because they were haunting. The only part that irritates me were the chapters about sitings of unexplained animal-like humans walking around different parts of the world/country. That section was annoying and boring. I skipped past it. But I liked every other part of the audio. Definitely worth the credit!

Good story. So-so narrator.

I read this story back in high school. I missed it so I was thrilled to find it here on Audible. 8t can be really corny at times but I still liked it. The narrator kind of ruined it for me.

Definitely unexpected......and welcomed...

I didn't expect to love this book or even get through it. But I did. And I absolutely loved it. I finished it less than 5 minutes ago but, from the very first chapter, I knew this book would help to change my life. To love this book....to love her so much after reading it.....was definitely unexpected, but so welcomed. She's the friend, auntie, mentor, stylist, therapist and inner-voice that we all need. And she delivers line after line. I didn't know I needed her until now. I suppose you can say she helped bring me back to life.
