Learning Spanish Like Crazy, Level 2
Revisado: 08-22-08
I have to say that this is really a fabulous language learning program. You receive the transcripts which are very valuable for spelling. The speakers speak slowly when introducing terms and then what seems very rapid (or normal speed).
The introduction of compound sentences and indirect and direct objects is very good. They start in the last two lessons of Book 1 but really get into it here.
If you're really serious about learning Spanish, you're going to have to supplement this with book learning and memorization unless you're a wiz.
The author has a nice email newsletter that comes with all kinds of tips and free grammar lessons.
All in all, I give this series an A and I am a language teacher.

Good but not Best
Revisado: 08-07-08
I really enjoy Patricia Cornwell's books and have read them all. But I found this book difficult to follow. More than once, I had to rewind in order to catch what was going on.
Overall, the plot was good but sometimes there can be too many hidden meanings and sub-plots.
Don't listen to this book when you're tired or need your attention on something else like the road.

The Best Spoken Spanish Program
Revisado: 08-06-08
I just love these series. I bought version 2 as well. The authors provide you with a transcript which is really valuable. I listen when I go on a walk. First, I read the transcript and then it's out the door.
The repetition is fantastic and you can through the dialogues in your mind after you've finished!
Great introduction of vocabulary, tenses and overall I would say that this is a different system for learning Spanish.
My advice is to get it while you can. Right now it's only 1 credit and the audible book is on sale for $95. On the authors website it is priced at the original price of $127. It's worth the full price so to get it for one credit is the best deal going.
I forgot to mention that I'm a language teacher and I have seen a lot of mediocre programs. This is one of the best, second to Warren Hardy's system of learning Spanish which is more visual than audible. :-)

A Great Book That Keeps You Hanging

I absolutely loved this book. In fact, I have listened to it three times now. It has an interesting plot and characters and keeps you guessing all the way. One of Kellerman's best!

An Disappointing Average Book
Revisado: 01-30-05
I read this after reading the Da Vinci Code. I was expecting the same high quality complex plot. Unfortunately this book did not meet up to that standard. It was fairly obvious from the beginning what was going on. However this didn't take away completely from the suspenseful novel. I still enjoyed the book and the characters. If I wasn't comparing it to the Da Vinci Code, I might have given it a higher rating.

An Interesting Read
Revisado: 01-30-05
This was my first Audible Book. I found it interesting but had to review a number of times because of the complicated plot. I would listen for an hour before sleeping at night and found that I sometimes fell asleep before the hour was up. And this isn't the kind of book that you can miss anything! In the end I bought the hard cover only because I enjoyed it so much.
I enjoyed revisiting Paris and the Louvre. I especially liked the historical information that was provided by the authour.
I would definitely recommend this book.

Historia
Temperance Brennan, forensic anthropologist for both North Carolina and Quebec, has come from Charlotte to Montreal during the bleak days of December to testify as an expert witness at a murder trial. She should be going over her notes, but instead she's digging in the basement of a pizza parlor. Not fun. Freezing cold. Crawling rats. And now, the skeletonized remains of three young women. How did they get there? When did they die?

Monday Mourning
Revisado: 11-26-04
Kathy Reichs is a good author and this Tempe series book lives up to her reputation. The biggest complaint that I have is not with the book but rather with the speaker. I suggest that the next time a book contains any French you have someone do the speaking that can at least pretend to speak French. The pronunciation is really bad and it interferred with what should have been enjoyable listening.
