Historia
Deborah Harkness first introduced the world to Diana Bishop, an Oxford scholar and witch, and vampire geneticist Matthew de Clermont in A Discovery of Witches. Drawn to each other despite long-standing taboos, these two otherworldly beings found themselves at the center of a battle for a lost, enchanted manuscript known as Ashmole 782. Since then, they have fallen in love, traveled to Elizabethan England, dissolved the Covenant between the three species, and awoken the dark powers within Diana’s family line.

Not Worthy of the Series
Revisado: 04-22-25
This book feels like a sad attempt to reboot a series that should be left alone. All I can say is that a lot of the storyline conflicts with where Diana and Matthew’s family story ended in The Book of Life. This book has Diana back to being a women again at odds with her witch self, and unable to come to terms with all that includes. I’m tired of authors who keep battering away at a series instead of letting the story come to a natural end. I have bought my last book in this series. She hasn’t added anything to the storyline that adds insight or value. I feel like she’s just doing it for the money now.

Revisado: 02-27-25
I have tried multiple times to get through this book. I’ve set bookmarks each time I start into it because the only thing it’s accomplished is to put me to sleep. Poor narration and a slow storyline that have no exciting moments and never pick up the pace. I haven’t made it past chapter 5 in a week of trying. If anything, this would make a great bedtime book for anyone suffering from insomnia. It will bore you to sleep in no time.

Historia
This is a tale of murder. Or maybe that’s not quite true. At its heart, it’s a love story, isn’t it? Lana Farrar is a reclusive ex-movie star and one of the most famous women in the world. Every year, she invites her closest friends to escape the English weather and spend Easter on her idyllic private Greek island.

Terrible all the way around!
Revisado: 01-17-24
Absolutely nothing like his previous two books. The story is very boring. I don’t know if this could’ve been helped with the better narrator whose voice is emotionless and robotic. There was nothing right about this book, and I couldn’t even make it past chapter 3.

Forgettable
Revisado: 01-01-20
This book could not hold my attention. I don’t know if it was the narrators voice, which is all wrong for a suspense novel, or the story that drags on and on. I tried many times to listen but ultimately gave up.

Historia
Each of the Maguire brothers has his own driving, single-minded obsession. For Jonathan it is his magnificent, talented, and desirable wife, Harriet. For Roger it is the elaborate universe he has constructed in a shed in their parents' garden, populated by millions of tiny insects. While Jonathan's pursuit of Harriet leads him to feelings of jealousy and anguish, Roger's immersion in the world he has created reveals a capability and talent that are absent from his everyday life.

It’s possible this story was ruined by the narrator. His voice almost a monotone with little difference between characters. I was a couple hours into the story with no idea what was going on since it couldn’t hold my attention.

Historia
Eva never really wanted to be a mother - and certainly not the mother of a boy who ends up murdering seven of his fellow high school students, a cafeteria worker, and a much-adored teacher who tried to befriend him, all two days before his 16th birthday. Now, two years later, it is time for her to come to terms with marriage, career, family, parenthood, and Kevin’s horrific rampage, in a series of startlingly direct correspondences with her estranged husband, Franklin.

Narrator ruined this!
Revisado: 01-31-19
I only rated the narrator because I couldn’t even make it Ann hour into the story. Coleen Marlo ruined a promising story with an emotionless, almost monotone, narrative. I definitely will not by any further audiobooks that she’s a part of.

Historia
I have three months to write the last book of my life. Three months to confess the details of that day, and how it changed everything for me. My name is Helena Ross. I've written 15 romance novels, 10 of which have become international best sellers. But this one isn't a romance, no happily ever after in place. This novel holds only the truth, which I have run away from for four years. The truth, which I have hidden from the police, from my loved ones, from the world.

Narrator ruins this book!
Revisado: 05-13-18
Got half way through chapter 13 before completely giving up on this book. Terrible narrator, completely bland and emotionless voice. Horrible editing, you can tell where they clipped in sections because some words overlap. It was a painful experience to listen to or care about the characters and story. It’s possible this could be a good story but I’ll never know now.

They’ve made allies on the darker side of many pantheons, and there’s a globe-spanning battle brewing that ancient Druid Atticus O’Sullivan will be hardpressed to survive, much less win.

A Big Dissapointment
Revisado: 04-06-18
I had so looked forward to this book and was sorely disappointed. The Druid Chronicles had attracted me with their unique stories that included a mish-mash of gods from all belief systems, totally over the top laugh out loud moments and great character and world development. Sadly this book has very little of that. I felt dragged down by overly long and boring descriptions of battles, annoying or inaccurate character voices compared to the previous books, and simply an over all depressing plot and ending. I also felt like too much of this book was spent plugging other books and short stories by this author.
Sadly, because of the great disappointment that this book and Plague of Giants was, I don’t think I’ll be buying anymore Kevin Hearne books.
