Historia
Hailed by The New York Times as "a marvel of storytelling", The Things They Carried’s portrayal of the boots-on-the-ground experience of soldiers in the Vietnam War is a landmark in war writing. Now, three-time Emmy Award winner-Bryan Cranston, star of the hit TV series Breaking Bad, delivers an electrifying performance that walks the book’s hallucinatory line between reality and fiction and highlights the emotional power of the spoken word.

Daunting and sincere
Revisado: 03-01-19
The book went by fast for over 7 hour of content. There was quite a few moments of repetition, but it really gave a perspective of his revolving thoughts from his experience, or better said his survival. Over all, the book really gives you an understand of the every day life of a solider in Vietnam, even though you can never understand unless you were there.

Historia
When Inspector Peter Glebsky arrives at a remote ski chalet on vacation, the last thing he intends to do is get involved in any police work. He's there to ski, drink brandy, and loaf around in blissful solitude. But he hadn't counted on the other vacationers, an eccentric bunch, including a famous hypnotist, a physicist with a penchant for gymnastic feats, a sulky teenager of indeterminate gender, and the mysterious Mr. and Mrs. Moses.

It was kinda corny, but the performance was great.
Revisado: 11-27-18
I won't reveal too much of the story, but there are bits of it that are just very corny. It made you think about who could have been the villain and then the straight up fiction ruins the fun of it.

Historia
"The Communist Manifesto" was first published on February 21, 1848, and is one of the world's most influential political tracts. Commissioned by the Communist League and written by communist theorists Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, it laid out the League's purposes and program. The Manifesto suggested a course of action for a proletarian revolution to overthrow capitalism and, eventually, to bring about a classless society.

I felt as if I did not learn as much as I expected
Revisado: 11-27-18
Initially, I thought that the book would be much longer. The performance of the speaker was good, his voice was appropriate to the theme. But I felt as if I did not learn too much from the book, it just made me wonder more about the past and what lead to the rise of communism.

Historia
"The People of the Abyss" (1903) is a work by Jack London about life in the East End of London in 1902. He wrote this first-hand account after living in the East End (including the Whitechapel District) for several months, sometimes staying in workhouses or sleeping on the streets. The conditions he experienced and wrote about, were the same as those endured by an estimated 500,000 of the contemporary London poor.

It’s just so damn dry.
Revisado: 02-20-18
Terrible time to live in, most definitely more grateful of the food I eat and the life I have.
